Sumiton Family Dentistry

The ladies up front are rude as hell! The dentist is fantastic but he really needs new ladies working the desk/new assistants. They are snobby and stuck up. Went in to see about getting a tooth fixed and they didn’t help in any way. They would roll there eyes and have rude comments. NEVER EVER will go there neither will any of my family. Don’t let there smiles fool you!

Front desk staff was very friendly however I don’t care for the dentist that I saw. I went in with tooth pain , they did an X-ray and said that I needed a wisdom tooth pulled and the tooth in front of it needed either a root canal or to be extracted as well. They gave me pricing for both, wrote me a prescription for an antibiotic and told me to call when I was ready to schedule the procedure. 2 weeks later I called to schedule the procedure because the tooth had broke and was causing me pain. The front desk clerk informed me that the dentist put a note on my file saying that I needed to go see an oral surgeon. I asked her why because when I was in the office they said that they could do it and she wasn’t sure why and didn’t provide an explanation. She referred me to 2 different oral surgeons in the area. I called and scheduled the appointment with the oral surgeon but they didn’t have appointments for several weeks so I called them back and asked for more antibiotics because I was in pain, it was literally like pulling teeth to get him to prescribe me anything. First of all, don’t tell your patient that you can extract the teeth and when they call to schedule it refer them outside. At the end of the day, I just feel like the dentist didn’t want to deal with me. I wouldn’t need more antibiotics if he had honored what he said during my first appointment and pulled the teeth in house. As of today then the antibiotics have worn off and I still have another week until my surgery and he refused to write me anymore. To me, he didn’t have my best interest at heart so I will not be returning.

I took my son for the 1st time today and it was a great experience. Everyone was super nice and helpful especially the ones working at the front desk.

Great staff and great doctor! Highly recommend this office.

DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!

My 17yr old daughter had a root canal and crown that has given her problems from day one of the procedure. She has since been seen by 2 reputable dentists that have questioned the quality of the work performed, one of the two actually telling me, "DO NOT TAKE HER BACK THAT DENTIST!" Because her insurance will not cover a retreat we are going to be out of pocket $2000 along with the pain and agony she's suffered from this.

Katherine is the most gentle, while being absolutely thorough, hygienist I’ve ever had. The office staff are very courteous and efficient.

I am blessed to have Mandy, who replaced Katie when she left, for my hygienist. So thorough, yet gentle. Dr. Thomson and all the staff are very courteous and efficient. I highly recommend their services.

Not many people can say that a visit to the dentist was an enjoyable experience. From the initial appointment call to Lori meeting me at the door, Tony walking me back and helping ease my anxiety with his happy demeanor to the actual dentists chair, I received grand treatment. The staff at Sumiton Family Dentistry rolls out the red carpet for each and every patient. I am in the process of changing insurance while attempting dental work and the team has gone above and beyond to assist me and help the process move forward flawlessly. I simply do not have the words to express my gratitude to the whole gang at Sumiton Family Dentistry.

I would and will recommend Alabama Family Dentistry. Dr. Colby Thompson along with his staff, from the receptionists to the dental assistant to Dr. Thomson himself are great. They make you feel at home and very comfortable. Dr. Thomson makes you feel at ease and tells you everything he is about to do and he makes sure you are as pain free as he can get you. Wonderful experience. The best one I've had in years. Thanks Dr. Thomson. I'll be seeing you again. Also many thanks to the receptionists up front. You all are great.......

The staff was very very friendly and helpful. And Dr.Colby Thomson went out of his way to make sure I was completely comfortable and felt safe before doing any procedure on me. Dr. Thomson made sure that I was totally out of any pain before he continued with my procedures. I was very satisfied and I will be returning for any other procedures I may need done by a Dentist. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ UHM? I have never had a good experience at the dentist, i can now say that's changed. The staff and the doctor are so nice and polite. From the moment i walked in i felt welcomed. Almost zero pain after having 2 teeth removed... never has that happened. All my dental work will be done here. I highly highly recommend. Awesome place to go!!!!!😁
