I have been a patient at Scenery Park Dental for about 25 years. Dr. Christian and Dr. Basco run an outstanding office. The staff is super professional. Double super recommended.

If I could give a negative rating I would. My son went to this dental office several times. My son is completely terrified of the dentist and did not cooperate very well 2 times (as in he just wouldn’t open his mouth, he didn’t act out otherwise) the second time we were there (about a year ago) my son was in a great mood but we were 5 minutes late. (My fault) and told we had to reschedule. So we left. 10 minutes later we get a call asking us to come back. Now my son is in a bad mood. the lady who took us back was very rude with my son and kept asking him questions he could not answer do to having A intellectual disability and autism. Which I had to explain to her more then once. Up until this point my sons disabilities had never been mentioned because he looks neurotypical and it hadn’t been an issue. Anyway we ended up leaving and scheduling the appointment for another day. About 30 minutes after we left I get a call from the office telling me that I need to find a new dentist for my son because they “don’t feel comfortable working on him” when I pressed for a better answer they said that he was unmanageable and should probably be put to sleep for future appointments which they can’t do. This did not make sense to me. And still doesn’t. He wasn’t acting out. He wasn’t rude or tossing a fit. He just wouldn’t open his mouth. Which I said. Then I hear a woman in the background say “we are not fit to work on children like that here, just hang up” which made me very angry and upset. I told them that was unacceptable and if they have a problem working with children that are neurodivergent they should have something listed to that affect so that other parents don’t run into the same problem there. The woman I was directly speaking to started apologizing for what her coworker had said but then the coworker just kept talking so I hung up. It was an awful experience.

I ve been going to Dr. Christian for over 30 years. There have been a few times when I had a somewhat urgent dental problem. Most recently he stayed after hours so I could get in to see him to check my problem. He is very knowledgeable, pleasant and has an easy laugh.

My husband and I have had great experiences with Scenery Park Dental. They are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We especially appreciate how quickly they can accommodate an emergency like a broken tooth or toothache. We've been their clients for about 20 years - always a good experience!

As a new patient I was emailed all the required forms so it did not delay my appointment and there was no need to arrive early. The new patient exam went well and identified a small issue that was corrected on the spot. No need to schedule another appointment. The cleaning went great. Everyone I met in the office were professional and friendly. I will be using this office for the rest of my family.

I was recently looking for a new dentist and so I called this practice to get some information for cost and insurance purposes. The receptionist on the phone very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly. The reason I am only leaving 2 stars though is because what was being said in the background of the call was anything but professional and friendly. Someone was very clearly upset in the office and was using profanity loud enough that I was able to hear it. It was clear it was a worker there because they were ranting about a patient, I decided to look elsewhere for a dentist because I can't imagine being in that office and listening someone talk like while I'm already uncomfortable even being at the dentist in the first place. And I also don't want to be spoke to like that or have someone speak to me like that after I leave from my visit. If she talks in front of patients like that I can only imagine what is being said being their backs. I will not be putting myself in that position.

Update: In response to the owner, I would first like to ask when the survey was taken that concluded 97 percent of people find her calming? I was not included in this survey and if not all patients were ask to participate in this survey it would seem your information is inaccurate. The several people in the waiting room with me also expressed concerns about the dog and the distractions it caused. Secondly, when asked if the dog was being trained as a service animal why was I told no by the dogs owner but now you saying she is? Furthermore upon some research an animal who is not trained as a service animal yet should not be there until they have been certified which takes several years to complete. I understand that you would like to have your pet at work with you but being dishonest with loyal clients is not going to win you any points. When she is trained and calm then yes by all means she would be a great asset however, right now she causes more stress and discomfort. I am also letting you know that a formal complaint was made the pa dental boards about the issue as I know I am not the only one with concerns. Just because you can have a dog there does not mean you should. Your response to my concerns were dismissive and didnt resolve the issue of her barking and peeing in the medical office. So I felt more action was needed to resolve the problem.
I have been a patient here for many years and have never had any issues before, however this last visit I had was horrible simply for the fact that they had an untrained and unruly dog running around the office the entire time I was there. I love animals but there are places I would prefer not to see them like for instances peeing on the floor in the middle of my teeth cleaning or barking while I'm trying to hear what the dentist is saying to me. I heard over 3 times during my visit from whom I'm assuming is the dogs owner(also a dental assistant) that "it is just a puppy" and that is exactly my point a puppy shouldnt be in a medical office of any kind unless it is a service animal which it clearly is not and when I asked if it was going to be the answer was no. It was unprofessional and unsanitary and my family and I will be looking for a new dentist for our next round of visits.

When I first became a patient just for dental care, I was satisfied with their services. The nightmare began when I became a patient for a sleep apnea dental appliance. I’ve wasted many hours of my time playing along with their games. They never told me what I would owe for the appliance. They initially told me that all of the visits and tests would free as they keep saying “We need to get at least $3500 for the appliance to make up for the things that we did for free” Nobody would tell what portion of the costs that my insurance would cover, and the insurance company was unsure of how it would be billed. I decided I am not going to accept the mouthpiece as nobody could tell me what I owe. Turnaround 3 months later... they are sending me a bill for the testing and visits that were “free.” The billing statement also claims that my account is 2 months past due and I need to make a payment by 7 days... it’s the first billing statement that I have ever received from them! They have “wrote off” $3,500 on the billing statement for the appliance that I don’t even have in my possession. The sleep test they had used made by Watermark Medical was deemed by my sleep physician as “not good” as she has never saw anything like it and the fact that there wasn’t a belt that went around the chest. My insurance company refused the prior authorization for the device with the results from their inaccurate sleep studies and finally agreed only after taking a new test from my sleep physician. I had asked both times about the costs of the sleep tests and was told there was no charge. I never agreed to any of these costs as they said everything was free and would come out of the appliance charge itself if and when approved. Once I finally got approved by the insurance for the appliance is when Suzette informs me that they are out of network, a piece of information I had not known prior. I encourage everyone to avoid Dr. Christian’s practice like the plague. They are truly only in it for the money and could care less about the patients.
