Vital Smiles

This review is more about the people who schedule appointments. I literally waited 2.5 hours to get a check up on a filling I was having issues with. The doctors are really nice but the receptionist schedule way to much people for the same time. Something that another office would have handled in 20 minutes I got done in about 3 hrs. In addition to this it is difficult to get them in the phone. I called three times before I could get an appointment scheduled.

Front Staff: *won me over* usually the receptionist is average- not rude but not nice. The front staff was outstanding!!! They were running like chickens with their heads cut off, yet still was extremely kind and welcoming.

Back Staff: professional

Doctor: last name starts with V -was insanely awesome. Professional, knowledgeable AND had outstanding bedside manner. - you either have a Dr. With brains or bedside but never both so he was off the charts awesome. I have told my entire unit about how great this office was.

Also I loved seeing all ethnicities under one roof working together and getting along. It made my heart full of joy! I couldnt improve a single thing about todays visit!

The receptionist was rude af! Our appointment wasnt until 315 we showed up at 245 and they tried to tell me our appointment was at 2 which was a LIE, so my youngest who really needed to see the dentist didn't get seen today. After this visit we'll be finding a new dentist. The reception staff is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & seem to only be nice to Mexicans, since most of the receptionists are Mexicans I see why they act like that. If I could rate them ZERO stars I would. We won't be back!

The staff is amazing!!! They are very kid friendly! Dr. Laura Duke and the dental assistant Marketa were AMAZING, they made my son very comfortable!!! Nothing but good things to say about Vital smiles!

Today I had my regular check up at Vital Smiles and as usual the staff and Dr V were great. It was not a long wait and they have a convenient plan for patients without insurance. I really like this practice. 😁😁😁

I see by the website that medicaid is accepted and children as young as 1 is treated, however I can't get anyone on the phone to be able to set up an appointment for my daughter as a new patient. I waited on hold for 20 minutes to no avail.

Our experiences here have always been good when it comes to the actual Doctors and their assistants, they are both always great with my son.. only reason I gave it 4 stars, is because sometimes the office staff are not the friendliest, ESP when you're trying to get through to the office by phone, and when needing to make or reashcedule appts... for it to take 4-5 weeks to get in when you do need to reschedule because your child is sick or not able to come on the date they're originally scheduled, is a little ridiculous.. other than that, Dr. Van and Dr. Duke are both great with my son, those are the only two Drs. that my son has seen... Dr. Duke was ESP great with my son b/c he was a little scared and not very cooperative in the beginning, but he did come around and she was very patient and understanding with him. All in all, I would recommend Vital Smiles to others.

My daughter has an enamel deficiency and has been teased most of her life due to small teeth. Did not expect for the Dentist and the Hygienist to comment “oh so tiny” or “wow those are small!” My daughter also had to tell the Hygienist to stop scraping her teeth so hard because she has no enamel only to get the reply, “oh sorry - I didn’t know!” The staff was very rude and has little knowledge of dentistry. After 2 hours of waiting, we were told they weren’t sure what to do, go to UAB, but that will be a $600 charge. Never been to a more unprofessional practice in my life!

For a parent of multiple children, "5". Vital Smiles of North Huntsville, did Great!! The work in for an appoinment was very convient, the staff was very nice and professional, the receptionist were Awesome and understanding. Most importantly they worked us in and out in less than an hour and a half for a family of four I'm satisfied.

I’ve been going here for 10 plus years. If Dr. Mike, Deanna and Marie(front desk) wasn’t there I wouldn’t be. Front desk manager and some staff are very unprofessional. Front desk manager has to be one of the worst I’ve ever come across. She’s the same rude person from when I started going around age 9 I’ve never met any dentist office who just doesn’t answer the phone. The customer service workers don’t even answer the phone! Vital smiles pisses me off on a different level
