Cottonwood Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics

Had an 8:00 appt which I made over a month ago for my semi annual cleaning. Arrived 10 min before my appt to check in. 40 min later I had not been seen and was told the doctor got tied up with another patient...I was only there for a cleaning. I've been going there for many years and understand you may have a little wait. However, no one could explain to me why I needed to see the doctor and was also told he was going to do my cleaning. Then when I decided to leave they told me I hD a 2md appt next week???

I recommend Dr Gonzalez. She is an incredible dentist who comes up with different options for your care. She explains everything so you can decide based on cost, time, discomfort or appearance. She always takes whatever time is needed to provide great care. I never felt rushed out of there. She is a really caring and compassionate person. She calls to see how I am after surgery. I can't tell you all the things she's done, in this little space.

Wife and I travel full time. Taking the time to make an appointment to see a dentist gets to be challenging. One call and I was in before you knew it (3days later). I warned of my travels and any follow-up as they mentioned a new patient special. Not only did they perform all they promised but they did a root canal AND a crown all within the visit which all together took about two hours. Impressed with the level of service and professionalism. I am one tough customer as I've been in the service industry for many years. I was not only very pleased but they exceeded my expectations.

Horrible practice! A family member of mine came here to get a tooth pulled, the first appointment got cancelled the day before the appointment. It got rescheduled for a week later, my family member was in pain! Then the day came. It felt sketchy at best, and the experience was bad to say the least. A week goes by and my family member insisted on going back because of extreme, unusual pain. The dentist immediately said it was a dry socket without even looking. Then proceeded to tell her "sorry, we double booked this time wait 20+ mins or reschedule". After "fixing" the problem sent my family on a wild goose chase to get painkillers because they before they insisted that they were "too busy to email the pharmacy the prescription" All in all the practice is fishy and bad.
I would recommend going literally anywhere else!

Not sure what happened with this practice. I loved the dentists that were here before and the hygienist. It seemed the entire office turned over. I had Erin as the hygienist and she cannot locate my x-rays, and then proceeds to tell me that the dental exam by the dentist is not part of the cleaning appointment??!! Really??? When I insisted that the dentist examine my mouth at this visit she tells me that the dentist brings no value without x-rays. Then she proceeds to interact with me in a condescending tone. Finally, I had to walk out - I could not take her attitude anymore.

I get that the practice invests in a lot of money to buy an x-ray machine and so has to push x-rays unnecessarily on patients to pay for the machine, but Erin was militant in insisting that I get x-rays when I had a full set done this year. She just couldn't find it - when I suggested that maybe she was still learning the system, she tells me no, she's been using this system for years - I bit my tongue, but wanted to say, ok, then you must be stupid.

I was so frustrated with Erin, the hygienist, that at great inconvenience, I booked another appt. with the hygienist that I had before.

My entire family sees the team at Cottonwood Modern Dentistry and we are VERY pleased. Myself and my daughter see the team on the adult side and my son and nephew see the team for pediatric dentistry. Every visit has been positive and all our needs have been met. The customer service from the staff is top notch from the front desk, to the aides, techs, dentists, billing, you name it. They are all very wonderful and easy to work with. I never leave confused or unsure about treatment or costs. I recommend them to everyone that asks me for a dentist in the Verde Valley and will continue to do so. I will continue to see this team as long as I am living in the Verde Valley area. They really are the best in the area!!

I recently went in to cottonwood modern to have my wisdom teeth extracted. A payment plan was set up, and i left thinking that is was all taken care. About a month later i received a collections notice in the mail regarding a delinquent charge to do with cottonwood modern. I drove back over to the office and once again had them take down my billing info. I was told by management that this time it had been handled and was given a receipt for the transaction.

Two weeks later the first bill showed up on my statement. I decided this was a good sign.

One month later i received another collections notice regarding the surgery at cottonwood modern. This time it was marked "URGENT" and assured me that if i could not pay the bill, legal action would be taken. I called the office to inform them of the issue and they once again told me that the transaction will be taken out of collections, they however could not tell me if my credit score had suffered.

Sounds like double billing to me.

They were REALLY nice, but they did NOT tell me their local anesthesia has Epinephrine in it. I wrote in my paperwork I have anxiety, and they should've known to check with me before administration of anesthesia. TELL THEM IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY OR STIMULANT SENSITIVITY. I LITERALLY went into shock when they administered it to me.

They ALSO did not ask if I wanted local anesthetic or told me what my options were.

Epinephrine (adrenaline) is something we naturally have in our bodies, but when more is given to you, it can create high amounts of bodily anxiety as well as possibly send you into shock, like it did with me. So TELL them, because they won't tell you, and hey won't ask.

AND IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW, there are actually some PRETTY serious reactions that people have when they DO react to epinephrine, and it can be REALLY dangerous. Irresponsible to not mention. I'm VERY disappointed and upset.

Brenda was great with my 3 year old twins. She made the visit fun even though my boys were apprehensive. She was interactive, playful and warm. Dr. Young also understands how to relate to little kids. He made my boys feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommend this team!
