I do not write reviews unless my experience far exceeds my expectations, and that’s what Dr. Cooperman and his staff at Dental Ben’s did.
I’ll start by saying I have always absolutely loathed dental visits. In my entire life I have never encountered a dentist who wasn’t condescending and insensitive, which would make me feel embarrassed about any work I needed done, and in turn would make me just avoid going altogether.
Today, I was desperately searching for a provider who could perform a root canal ASAP, as I had ignored my tooth pain for too long and needed something done urgently. After calling a handful of offices in my area, I happened upon Dental Ben’s. When I explained my situation, the receptionist said I could come in immediately for an examination.
Dr. Cooperman and his staff were amazing from start to finish. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel more comfortable than I have ever been in a dental office. After a through, yet efficient and quick examination of my issue- Dr. Cooperman gave me his recommendations for treatment, and his receptionist broke down the cost of the procedure for me. Never once did I feel pressured to pay for additional or unnecessary treatments.
At the start of the procedure, I fully expected it to be at the very least a painful experience. All of my past dental experiences have been painful. But I’m not exaggerating when I say I DID NOT HAVE ANY PAIN AT ALL THE ENTIRE TIME. NONE. Even when Dr. Cooperman was administering the local anesthetic, it didn’t hurt. He went very slowly and carefully, and made sure to check in with me frequently on how I was doing and how it felt. No dentist I’ve seen has ever done that before, just poking away at me with no regard to my comfort. During the procedure, Dr. Cooperman cracked jokes, and explained to me what he was doing (in a not gruesome way) and how far we were through the process. Which is also great for me having had “dentist-anxiety” in the past and hating not know what was going on or how long there was left.
Dr. Cooperman in addition to having a great bedside manner, is very thorough and knowledgeable. The tooth he was working on is somewhat anatomically abnormal, but he was diligent in x-raying and evaluating it while also being totally confident on how to approach it. He even explained to me some differences between types of tooth decay, in a way what didn’t make me feel disgusting. I can tell that he is truly fascinated by his work.
I have nothing but great things to say about my experience, the office, the staff, and Dr. Cooperman. Now that I don’t hate going to the dentist, I’m looking forward to being a lifelong patient of Dr. Cooperman’s, as well as the rest of my family.
