I had a great experience! Got to appreciate the staff, Dr. Shaw was so genuine and empathetic with all the treatment that I needed to get done. The Front Office was very welcoming and attentive. I believe her name was Amanda, the girl on the left of the front desk, was very sweet and prioritized my well being.

I visited surprise modern dentistry on 8/31 for a new patient appointment (exam, imaging, cleaning, etc.). I was the first appointment of the day and I was brought back in a timely fashion for imaging. My gums were assesed by the hygeniest. I then saw Dr. Shaw whom was very nice, and he spoke of practicing as conservatively as possible. I was informed that I needed a root canal and had a few cavities as well. Upon completion of my exam, I waited well over an hour for the billing liason to come back and speak with me. When she finally did, I was informed it was going to be nearly $6k to have my few issues addressed. It was evident that the advertised treatments on the signs in the room were being pushed on the customer (for example, their onlays, "crown in a day", and their special cleaning). I said that price couldn't be right, as I have very good dental insurance and my wife has had much more extensive work and our out of pocket was a fraction of that. She left and looked further into it (which took another 30 mins or so), and the new price was still nearly $4k (interesting how the price changed so dramatically). I never got the cleaning included in the new patient special and the doctor never returned to answer questions as originally planned. I will not be back, and will be going to a practice that prioritzes patient care over profit. Of note, this all took around 2.5 hours.

Dr. Shaw is exceptional! I was offered same day crown at day of my appointment, it was done efficiently. I did not have to come back another day which is helpful, as I would have to had request another day off from my work. Front office was helpful. I know exactly how much I would be billed. Dental assistant is great and very knowledgeable. I would refer all my family and friends to see Dr. Shaw.

Linda at the front desk is always so friendly and quick to get you an appointment time that works with your schedule.. and always fits you in when it is a dental emergency and you’re in pain!
Dr. Shaw is efficient and takes his time to make sure you understand your dental care! You can definitely tell his patients oral health truly matters to him!

I was referred by my neighbor to see Dr. Shaw who I must say is amazing!! I dislike going to the dentist, I went to Dr. Shaw for a 2nd opinion and decided to switch to Dr. Shaw because he gave a thorough examine with explanation and conservative treatment. He is very patient and personal which makes your visit a little easier! The staff I've had interaction with, have all been equally nice and patient. Linda the Office Manager is very knowledgeable about the overall practice operations. I highly recommend making an appointment to see Dr. Shaw or his new associate who I met today and seemed equally as nice.

Had a great experience yesterday with Methawee Hall who was the dentist who took care of my dental needs and concerns. She was awesome!! I hadn’t been to see the dentist in 8 years due to bad experiences, lack of faith and a fear!
Totally feel much better after my treatment, was not very painful, she is knowledgeable and kind with much empathy with my feelings. Very professional from the front desk through all people I had contact with. They have great new technology which is much more expedient, totally love that too.
If you have second thoughts on seeing a dentist please try Surprise Modern Dentistry first. You won’t be disappointed at all. I truly hope this helps someone.
