Sangre de Cristo Dental Care, owned by Heartland Dental and has a parent company of KKR, is just another corporate dental office like so many others now adays. I went in knowing I had to have some teeth fixed. Went to the consult, nothing major, the dental staff was nice, waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time to get in to be seen. I looked past that. They set up a treatment that that with both insurances and out of pocket was under $600.00 for four visits. I was ok with that and agreed to it. First appointment went as planned. When I went back for a prescription the day before my next procedure, I again waited while one lady worked with an insurance company on the phone while two others sat idly by. Several other employees went thru the office area and only a Dr. acknowledged me. Final a woman come thru went to her office than came back out I gave her my info and she went to find a file. Which the one lady working on the phone had already pulled. Shen then processed to tell me my balance for tomorrow was now $1200.00. I asked why and no one had an answer. She went to find a Dr. after 8-10 minutes she came back with no answer or doctor. She stated he was busy and wanted me to wait until he was done. As I did not plan on this I need to leave and get on with my work for the day. I was promised a call shortly to explain. I then asked for a copy of the Treatment plan, also known as the estimate or bill, she did not want to provide me with that, but ended up giving to me. I sent it to a person that I know to have reviewed. To my amazement, my part was not $1200.00 but $425.60, which I was ok with. I also found out, while I do have two insurances, they were billing each one for two different types of sedation. So my real bill should have been under $400.00. I waited 5 hours for a call back from the office. I then called them and got the same office manager. She stated that there was a miscommunication. When I asked about while she tried to charge me over that was listed on their print out, she stated that was not the issue. When I asked about the double billing that was found, she again stated that is not the issue. I asked several times for her to explain, and she would not. I asked to speak with her boss, she stated she was the manager. I asked for who signs her paycheck and she gave me the name of “Brittany” and she would have Brittany call me. I stated I did not have any trust in her and asked for Brittany’s number to contact her. Again, would not give it to me. I pushed the issue and she said I will give it to me. It took her putting me on hold for 6-9 minutes to find “Brittany’s” number. I called the number, and it was the home office of Heartland Dental and they do not have a Brittany working there. I did talk to a Jennifer; she was cold and uncaring and stated there was nothing she would do about fraud. I also tried to reach out to the Parent Company of KKR and the email address listed on the website came back as “undeliverable” & “Not A Valid Email Address”. I called the number listed and it is only an answering machine. I was also promised by the office manager that I would get a call by a District Manager by 5pm MST. That time came and pasted with no calls or emails. My best recommendation is to watch your billing and DO NOT expect customer service if there is an issue.

PS. I attempted to send this to the “Media Contact” for Heartland Dental, in an attempt to try one more way to resolve the issue, and guess what, this email has been blocked by Microsoft. Yet another case of mis-information by this company.

It’s was most friendly place. They staff and dentist make you feel like family. I’d had a root canal done. It’s was painless and comfortable. They had payment options. I think i’d found a new dentist. I’d would recommend this dental office to family and friends. They accepted both of my insurance. The cost was little bit to high. Even after the insurance cover half of the cost. It’s still a pretty penny to paid. Overall I’d felt comfortable and welcomed to dentist office.

This dental practice is above standard for Pueblo. I would've expected to drive to springs for this level of care! I've been looking for many years for a good dentist and I finally found it! They make going to the dentist a lot easier!

So although the service is great, they are having massive administrative issues.
They were fine at first, but then me and brother were thinking of the invisiline. They are relying on a unreliable credit card service and if that doesn’t work out you’re paying all of it up front (Hunter Orthodontist has their own payment plan FYI, do yourself a favor and just go to him for invisiline or regular braces).
We go in for what we thought was a information appointment, and it turns out they were just going to do the work without making sure it was paid for!
Then on top that their billing is super shady. We suspiciously got billed $40 and their bill was a huge mess so we couldn’t find out where it came from and according to our insurance everything was paid.

Although dentist and hygienists are good,
Avoid this office because their billing sucks is shady!

Amazing service and truly kind and caring workers. The space inside is beautiful and very clean making it feel very welcoming. The technology is awesome and she was able to visibly show me everything she was saying about my teeth. 10/10 would recommend.

People here are always great! The only bad part is having to book appts out so far and they are too busy to work my kids in. Very disappointed in that because they are all so amazing!

First visit for an urgent need. All the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere lends to relaxation with music and television in the treatment rooms. Best of all, my tooth was repaired with no pain !
