Bright Smiles Family and Cosmetic Dentistry

My husband and I both went to this office for years, but we've recently switched dentists and we're SO much happier. The hygienists are pretty good here, we never had any issues with our respective dentists, the receptionists are a bit hit or miss .... but the absolute dealbreaker with this office is how insanely pushy they are with add-ons, upgrades, and unnecessary procedures! Every single time we were there they aggressively pushed us to get teeth whitening, Invisalign, veneers, and other procedures that we really don't need. A simple "no thank you" was not good enough for them; they argued and pushed until it became uncomfortable and we both dreaded going to the dentist twice a year. The weirdest part is that both of us have relatively straight teeth with minimal alignment issues, and I already whiten on my own with custom trays so why would I pay them $300 to do Zoom? The entire thing just didn't make sense and I don't know why they felt like patients would respond well to such a high-pressure sales pitch while sitting in a dental chair. My breaking point was when they told me I had deep pockets in my gums and needed to have some sort of deep cleaning procedure done, and it was at a hefty cost. They really scared me by saying that I could lose my teeth when I'm older if I didn't have the procedure done, so I got an official quote from them (around $700 after insurance) and scheduled the appointment. When I showed up a few weeks later they told me right after calling me back that, "by the way", there was an insurance mistake and my actual cost would be $1,200. I asked why they didn't call to let me know the cost difference before I took the time off work for the appointment, and they basically just shrugged and offered no apology. It really rubbed me the wrong way - so much so that I canceled the entire procedure that day. Before I left I politely asked for my husband and I to be taken off of their customer list and that we didn't want to receive anything further from them; the front desk receptionist was apathetic and rude about it, and 2 years later we're still getting emails, advertisements in the mail, appointment reminders, the works. About a year ago I called again and asked to be removed as a patient, and yet we continue to get bombarded with nonsense from their office.

We've switched to an awesome dentist in Destin who is laidback, genuine, has practically zero staff turnover, and best of all - NO PRESSURING!! The confirmation that we made the right decision came when I told our new dentist about the "deep pockets" that Bright Smiles said I had, and told him I'd like to schedule whatever procedure was necessary. He measured the pockets and said they were a little deep but nothing abnormal and certainly nothing that required dental intervention. Another dentist also confirmed this.

In short, I feel like Bright Smiles is in the money-making business, not the people business. Patients should be aware.

Been an option. I left in tears after paying 200 for xrays and not getting a resolution to my issue now that I have insurance again I’m looking for anew place to go!

If i could leave 0 stars I would!!!!!!! My husband went here for routine deep cleaning and check up. They charged the insurance company 1,600. (Basically up to the full amount covered by insurance company for the year). They told him nothing that the new dentist we are seeing now. The fact that they did a 1,600 deep cleaning check up and did NOT tell him that he had several cavities, periodontal disease, ect. It blows my mind!!! What on earth are we here for?, not to be taken advantage of, but for people who actually care about and for their patients, and not just a paycheck or taking advantage of insurance companies and how they work. The insurance company is already looking at fraudulent charges. Unbelievable and unacceptable!!! Just want to make people aware of how they do business so it doesnt happen to you!!

Dental hygienist was exceptional friendly knew her work did a great job on my teeth all the personnel are friendly and go out of their way to make you comfortable

Worst experience ever with a Dentist. Cierra Johnson did absolutely nothing for my issue other than tell me I have an infection. When I asked for a dental block for pain she refused. At least when you go the ER, they will do one for you but a dentist to refuse is a shame!

I always have a great experience at bright smiles. Ive been coming here for years now, and just recently was there with all the new restrictions in place for covid-19. They will go above and beyond to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience no matter what you come here for.

We enjoy coming in the office to see smiling faces. You get their friendly staff and all are helpful. They get you in and out.

The staffs were kind and it seemed they have nice facilities.
But.
After visiting this place, I highly recommend to get a second opinion from other dentists. In my case, for a simple treatment, the estimation from this place was several thousand dollars. Either they recommended an expensive treatment that is not covered by the insurance, or they skill is not good enough to treat my simple problem.

$80 was enough for me to get the right treatment from other dentist in Destin.

The staff here are incredible! Dental appointments with Bright Smiles are as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Dentist near Eglin AFB/Fort Walton Beach, FL.
