Tioga Dental at Celebration Pointe

Warning! Do NOT see Dr. Thomas Huntley-Loehr (THL)!

He used to be in the Tioga Town Center office and was transferred to this new office.

Dr. THL did three fillings for me back in Oct/2021. It was supposed to be a relatively easy job, even for an inexperienced newbie doctor, but he still managed to fail it miserably and cause considerable permanent damage to my teeth.

He spent more than half an hour to just adjust the bite after filling the last tooth because he has little clue of how to do it correctly. He kept polishing the wrong area/teeth that didn't make bite better at all, until to a point I felt a sharp pain in the tooth above the filling and I had to stop him and left with disappointment and disgust. I had to come back later twice to have the other doctor (I'm not going to see him again) adjust bites and fix the mistakes he has done.

But the tooth I felt sharp pain when he kept polishing last time was getting worse and worse, it was perfect fine before that, but since then it was increasingly sensitive to hot, cold, and later on even chewing. I had to come back again to get it checked. After some treatment and medication, it didn't work at all. They had to refer me to see a endodontic specialist (Dr. Duane Bernstein at Haile Plantation). After initial evaluation, Dr. Bernstein said there were some apparent infections going on in one of the roots of that tooth and we have to do a root canal to solve the problem. He also said it may be caused by inappropriate over-heating when Dr. THL over-polished this tooth. So I had to do the root canal therapy ($890) followed up with a crown ($580) and paid almost all of that myself. If it's not Dr. THL's worst/disqualified techniques and skills, I wouldn't have to pay any of these and going through the sufferings every time I eat or drink for the last six months.

I tried to reach out to the office manager Lynn at least a dozen times trying to discuss about a reasonable cost sharing or compensation, which I think is a very legitimate request, she never answered her phone and she never called me back. I also told Stacy the coordinator many times to let Lynn call me, I didn't know if Stacy passed my words, but no she still ignored me. As soon as I was done with the first visit doing the (temp) crown and told cashier I will pay over the phone later and to let the manager Lynn call me, only after 10 minutes, she called me back.

In the discussion with Lynn, she told me she talked to Dr. THL before, but he didn't admit anything he did wrong about the filling (of course he didn't), let alone making any apologies, and he would never have any compensation for what I've been going through, he even didn't want to refund the filling fee. If everything she said was true, that just shows you how irresponsible, and unsympathetic he is. The manager offered to refund me the original filling fee ($130) on her behalf and that's it, and I rejected the cold offer. Later the other doctor doing the crown for me reduced half of the crown cost only for kindness.

*Response to the owner: You knew it's true. Lynn just called me yesterday morning blaming me posting such a horrible review (then why you guys couldn't do it better) and asking me to take it down because it looks bad on your practice and affect your reputation. But no one cares about me suffering half a year drinking and eating with pain, and paying $1200+ for your doctor's malpractice. You are (supposed to be) way better than this. I stand by every word I said. If you have a problem, please contact Lynn to get my number and discuss it with me directly. Thanks.

I had a dental emergency on Good Friday morning. A terrible time to need a dentist. After unsuccessfully calling around I resigned myself to the fact that I would have to wait until Monday. First thing Monday morning I started calling around. Still no go. I finally called Tioga around 9am and had an appointment for 1:00 that day!
From the receptionists on the phone to the dental assistant Kiana to Patrice in the other Tioga location they were PHENOMENAL!! I felt at ease and they were concerned about my problem. I have a treatment plan and I'm aware of my insurance coverage and my potential charges.
I HIGHLY recommend Tioga Dental. They are wonderful!

I cannot recommend this dental practice, their dentists and staff enough! I had a dental emergency and while my previous dentist was not able to see me this practice gave me a next day appointment as a new patient no questions asked. What I was expecting to be a simple filling replacement turned out to be a much larger problem. To fix this required a crown and as a student that is just not something I can afford. Charles and the staff here are so kind and compassionate.. Rather than just allowing me to leave to try and find another dentist or route for treatment they went above and beyond to find a way to help me get the dental treatment I needed. When I say above and beyond I cannot even put into words how much help they provided me. They explained every step of the treatment process along the way and their knowledge, attention to detail, and skill is exceptional. I cannot stop recommending this location to everyone I know and if you read this far you I recommend them to you as well!

This place is amazing! The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Charles and Dr Mclennon knew exactly what it would take to make my smile perfect. Their attention to detail and to their craft is incredible. The efficiency and systematic effectiveness of the entire office is unlike other office I have ever been in. I went from one part of the process to another so seamlessly and with ease but still never felt rushed. It was wonderful. I had a lot of work done in a very short period of time and I enjoyed every minute I was there. Many many many thanks to the entire office. You guys rock!!!

Great customer service and care! Charles went above and beyond and even jumped started my car after my appointment when my battery died!

I got in a traumatic biking accident and cracked my two front teeth. I had to have a crown put on that day to prevent a vertical crack from spreading to my root. The people at Tioga were kind, helpful, and professional from start to finish guiding me through the process of getting a crown and financing. I felt comfortable and I trusted their care from the moment I walked in. Highly recommend

I've always been nervous about going to the dentist. When you walk in the doors at either location you feel like you've known everyone forever. They greet you by name, they treat you with respect and they help calm your nerves. I've had bad experiences at other offices and the shots they give in your gums but Dr. McClennon and dental assistant Abby....they know their stuff and need to teach every other dentist how to do it, ha. I felt nothing...no pain or anything. That was amazing. They tell you what they're doing and what everything means, which helps. I won't go anywhere else now, I'm a customer for life!

Charles and staff have made my visits enjoyable through compassion light hearted humor and a comprehensive plan The entire organization operates at he highest level. Could not be happier or more impressed with my experience.
