Kaizen Dental Center - Downtown Honolulu

I have only seen Dr. Muraoka once so far, seeking a consult for a cracked and very painful tooth that was badly mishandled by another dentist. I have few dental problems, so this was nerve-wracking and new to me. Dr. Muroaka greeted me with warmth and friendliness, concern about my very bad experiences, listening carefully to the details, and did a very thorough exam of my tooth, including important testing and 3D imaging which were neglected by other dentists. Based on this thorough evaluation, he felt that eventually the tooth had to come out, but he explained why, including making a drawing of it, which was SO helpful, going above and beyond what anyone had done to that point. He also took the time to point out the problem points in the scan. This really built my trust in him and the technology he uses to safely do a very scary procedure for me. He was empathetic and understanding, assuring me that he would take care with the numbing injections to go as slowly as I needed, and that he would take the tooth out carefully in pieces to save more bone in the process. I presented ideas about other materials and methods along the way and he knew the pros and cons to each, again with knowledgeable commentary. He went the extra mile of suggesting that he connect with my primary care doctor to know my health issues overall. He was honest and EXTREMELY generous with his time. His confidence at the end when I said, "I will be nervous the day of" and he said "No problem!" made me feel so reassured. So while I have to schedule the actual procedure, he definitely feels like someone I'd put my life into the hands of. I scoped it out enough to know!

I've always been afraid of the dentist & embarrassed of my teeth! If I could go back in time, I would've taken better care of my teeth!!! Dr. Muraoka & his wonderful staff offers a clean & comfortable environment while providing stellar service!! Special thanks to Ha for the awesome cleaning & accommodations! Love the entire staffs' pleasantries and professionalism and how they make you feel important and appreciated. Ann is one of Dr. M's newer assistants I met for the first time. Since I was use to Marvy and Kacy I wondered how she would be, but my time with her was fun. I think she'll be fun to get to know more of on my future visits, just like how I got to know Marvy and Kacy.

When it came time to talk cost, Jonathan came in to go over the treatment plan and my cost. I was a little worried, but only for a short because he surprised me with a special rate to adjust my out-of-pocket cost to a price that would be affordably doable. I didn't have to ask, they just did it on their own.

Thank you Dr. M & the entire Kaizen staff for your 'taking care of patient first' philosopy. You provide such a positive enviroment that makes going to the dentisht okay.

The best dental service in Honolulu. Scheduling is easy. The staff is friendly. Having your teeth cleaned or fixed (e.g. fillings or crowns) is not something many people look forward to, but these guys are the best in the business at making sure you are comfortable and understand what is going on throughout any service or procedure. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I first met Muraoka as a emergency on a ala moana dental care. He kill my nerve but not treated qnd left never inside dead qnd put q post with some weird metal on the empty crown thata cause to loose all my other button teeth and left top teeth for a shock that metal causes. i only figures the proboe.tgat wqs this teeth when a skilfull dentiat told me qftwr rwview the xray. aff worst chqrqcter blasfeme qnd has alcohol breath. no good qt qll you unxer risk this is a black mail. i doubht he git q licenae to be a dentist that no ethics. not recommend. my situation dental got so bad i have to do all i.planta qnd is his fault qmd most dentiat in hawaii are like 5his guy they desteoy your teeth to make money doing implants

I’m new to Oahu. I was very nervous/afraid to go to a Dentist here on the Island. I even made plans to fly back to my Dentist on the Mainland. But I’m glad I decided to give Dr. Eric Muroaka at Kaizen Dental Center a try, and I am soooooo glad I did!! Dr. Muroaka and his Staff are awesome 👏🏽!! They are friendly, welcoming and a pleasant bunch of people. Miss Kira was very gentle with my cleaning and so was Dr. Muroaka. The both of them listened to my concerns and they were understanding. Also Ms Ann, and the young man at the front desk (I’m sorry I don’t remember his name at the moment), they too were patient with me.
I just gave my co-worker Dr. Muroaka’s information. I will definitely be a routine patient at this office. Thank you Dr. Muroaka and your staff for changing my fear into happiness!! God bless you all 💙🙏🏾

I’ve been looking for a perfect dental clinic and I think I have found one that I could highly recommend to anyone. Got all my wisdom tooth taken out and got it done quicker then I expected. It was painless and quick. Everyone was friendly and easy to talk too. I’ll be doing my future dental here for sure
