I had the worst experience at this dentist office. As some reviews have said the staff is nice, my bad experience was with Doctor Adkins herself. I needed a filling done on the lower part of my mouth, instead she numbed the upper part of my mouth and left me sitting there alone from 10:02am to 10:36am. She never once told me why I was waiting and walked by me repeatedly when I said “excuse me ma’am” and she just ignored me. The numbness in my mouth actually started to wear off so I eventually just got up and left. One of the staff actually ran after me and apologized for the terrible treatment. I had to miss work for this, I had to get my baby out in the rain to attend this appointment. I’m glad others had a pleasant experience because mine made me feel completely terrible.
0 stars !!!!! The first appointment took from 2:30 pm to almost 5 pm just for a cleaning because their x Ray machine “broke” however before they told me the x Ray room was being cleaned for me when I was waiting for the appointment to start.

Nice front desk staff, fit me in the same day before they went to lunch. I went in Monday due to having awful pain all Saturday night and Sunday (couldn’t do anything since it was the weekend and nothing’s open), when I came in, we did x-rays and say me in a chair waiting for 30ish minutes. They quickly learned I have many cavities and issues that I needed fixing, one of them being an emergency root canal to fix the pain from the weekend. Once they looked at my x-rays, I heard them ask if they’d need to color my crown and then I saw them look over at me and then they started whispering. I felt judged very quickly. Victoria then came over and started saying I have all of these issues, this is what I should’ve been doing (with all respect, saying what I should’ve been doing isn’t going to solve anything now). Continued to explain that they will be shutting down for about two months while Dr. Adkins has surgery, then proceeded to give me a cleaning, gave me an antibiotic and your basics (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) sending me on my way while trying to send me elsewhere. While Victoria did offer at the end to help if she could, I don’t really feel like it was genuine. Overall, not a good experience from my side, I felt judged the entire time, the front desk staff was nice though.

The staff is very friendly and professional. I have been a patient of Dr. Adkins for seven years. They do an awesome job in putting in permanent crowns. They put my child at ease, They are straight forward with your dental needs. They are flexible with payment arrangements. I also have never had a negative interaction with the dentist or her staff. I highly recommend Dr. Ruth Adkins.

I highly recommend no one go to this dentist! You will be sorry you did if you let her touch your teeth.

One of the lowest rated dentists for a reason. Staff was rude and the place was not clean. Before they started cleaning my teeth I looked up to see dried blood on the dental light over my mouth. Not a good feeling.

I've been going here for almost four years. Love the staff here. Always so friendly and unassuming. The office is in good shape and they seem to be investing in their equipment and staying current. I can't tell you how many times I've been in dentist offices where you can tell the owner is trying to milk their original capital investment.

Dr. Adkins and her staff are, in my experience, very professional and courteous. I have rarely had to wait long to see either the hygienist or Dr. Adkins once I arrive at the office. I have noticed that the dentist and her staff always observe COVID-19 guidelines, which reassures me. In addition, Dr. Adkins uses the latest dental technology available. Dr. Adkins is one of the best dentists that I have had.

Worst dentistry I have ever been too. Dr.Adkins is very rude and when my sister came out of her appointment with a swollen right bottom lip with her literal 2 inches of her skin burned off. When we asked what happened she told us "sometimes that happens but we can always put in a little lip filler in the other side to even it out". I don't know about y'all but that ain't right.

I just moved to Lexington and was looking for a dentist so I googled dentists close to me and found this place. My first visit went pretty well, they worked with what my insurance allowed and were very informative. The girl did a great job with my fillings. Would recommend to others, even considering switching my kids from their pediatric dentist since they are so much closer and equally as nice in here.

EDIT** my last visit there was 2 years after having to go in twice to get those filling fixed. And then listening to the personal problems of the staff was the last thing I wanted to do while in the chair for the third time getting the same filling worked on. I ended up finding a new dentist and having the fillings redone again and so far they've stayed put.

I would not recommend this dentistry for anyone, especially not for children.

The first assistant did such a poor job with my 5-year-old son's fillings that another had to re-do them. One frequently and annoyingly commented that, while my son was a great patient, he was small, and it was difficult to perform work on him. (If Adkins cannot perform high-quality work on children, why do they advertise themselves as a "family" dentistry?) After providing several opportunities over the past two weeks for them to rectify the situation, we went to a different dentist, who quickly identified and corrected various problems with the shape of the fillings that were peformed at Adkins, and my son already feels much better.

The assistant who made the inappropriate comments regarding my son apparently was so preoccupied in doing so that, in her attempt to perform some routine bitewing x-rays on me, while I had the plastic/metal contraption in my mouth, she proceeded to bang the x-ray machine into my face. They later completed the x-rays and suggested that I may need a crown. Given that they indicate on their website that they offer this service, one might expect that they do in fact offer this service in their office, but they instead referred me to an endodonist. That is fine, because by now I have no confidence in the quality of the work performed by Adkins and do not intend to return.

Unless you want to have to go to (and, of course, pay!) both Adkins and another dentist, I would recommend that you go elsewhere in the first place.
