O'Donnell Family Dentistry

Very mixed reviews about this dentist. The staff was overall nice and very positive which gave me a good feeling about the place.
I went in for a cleaning and it seemed very rushed. I know a cleaning shouldn’t take long, but every detail such as flossing and brushing seemed quickly rushed.
The dental assistant also couldn’t take a proper x-ray. She had trouble getting the machine lined up correctly and took around 10 x-rays total for both sides of my mouth.
They saw a few “minor” cavities so I scheduled to get them filled.
When I arrived and the dentist started drilling, he noticed the cavities were deeper than expected. This caused him to drill much deeper than expected.
Once the cavities were drilled out, the dental assistant began to fill them while he went and worked on someone else.
She seemed fairly inexperienced, which really showed later that afternoon after my appointment.
The two teeth that were drilled (my back molars) we’re still very sharp and kept nicking my tongue when I talked or chewed.
It felt like they cavities weren’t 100% filled.
I called and explained the situation and went back the following weekend to get them checked out and re-filled.
When the dentist checked, he couldn’t see anything wrong so I had to show him a picture which I had previously taken with my phone.
He only drilled down the sharpness and used some quick setting filling to help out.
It felt quite a bit better once I left, but soon after, I noticed that one of them was still sharp. Thankfully this doesn’t hurt at all. However, I have major problems with easily getting food stuck between these teeth and having to floss just to remove it. I also have problems with hit and cold foods/drinks severely agitating the area.
I have lost trust in this dentist and have decided not to return to them to get the rest of the problem fixed.
I would think twice before getting cavities filled at this dentist.

First dentist I have been to since moving from Louisville. All of the staff is very friendly and they make you feel right at home. Had my teeth cleaned on a Friday when they noticed two cavities. They were able to fit my in the following Monday to have them filled. This is a Great dentist off and would recommend everyone goes here.

I just found my new dental office. I came in for a cleaning and I was so impressed with the office. The girls up front welcomed me in the door. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was very thorough and I could tell she really cared about me. I got to meet Dr. Matt VanZanten and he checked to make sure my teeth and gums looked ok. What a great overall experience. I usually hate going to the dentist but everyone here made it enjoyable. I will be sending all my family and friends here.

I must admit going to the dentist has never been my favorite thing to do. However, Dr. Jones and his staff really do create a pain free and comfortable environment. This is the best office around! Highly recommened!!

There is so much I can say about the staff at O'Donnell dentistry. Actually the word staff doesn't describe it well enough at all, it is the family at O'Donnell dentistry that strives to make each patient feel special and in good hands during each visit. After getting in a bike wreck I knocked out a few of my teeth and knew it was going to be a long road ahead of me regarding dental visits. Being from Chicago and just being in Lexington for school, I had no dentist here and I had no idea what I was going to do. My roommate and I called everywhere and everywhere we called, would not see me on a Saturday. Finally, I called Dr. O'Donnell's emergency number and him and his associate, Dr. VanZanten, took time out of their weekend to come work on my teeth. After a few appointments and a lot of work, I cannot begin to thank my dentist Dr. VanZanten and his colleagues for the amazing job they did. My teeth look better than they did before my accident. As they could all probably tell you, I was deathly afraid of the dentist and I was so nervous for my first appointment. Now I can walk in there and I know I'm in good hands and they make me feel like family. Words cannot describe my gratitude for this office and they really do redefine the standards of a "family dentistry." I would recommend this place to everyone in and around the Lexington area for their amazing work and positive vibes, you all are an amazing family.

Dr. Galbreth has been my dentist for years. I do business in China and I always fly back to see Dr. Galbreth for dental work. He’s a great person, you’ll be charmed in no time. Plus the 48 yrs of experience helps... you know your in good hands.

The staff was friendly on the phone and easy to work with when I arrived for my first appointment. I had a great experience with Dr. Jones and his staff. I was able to figure out a treatment plan and look forward to going back.

Prior to arriving I was assured that my appointed was on November 25 at 1:50. I arrived and was told that my appoint was not until December 9. I took a day off work to get my routine medical appointments done. They would not work with me so I cancel my appointment and will be going else where. Hopefully, everyone else has a better experience..

Dr. Galbreath has been our family dentist for many years, having moved into the O"Donnell practice about two years ago. He is personable, helpful, and very professional. The care my wife and I have received is extraordinary!

Dr. O’Donnell and the entire staff are just amazing. Have been a patient for 8+ years and have had many different procedures done and all with perfect care and compassion.

No way I’d go anywhere else
