We first came here &an older gentleman,I can’t remember his name off hand I’ve only met him twice &it’s been awhile. We had a new patient meet &greet.I had my teeth cleaned & x rays,he was very kind & educated, took the time to explain everything.Same with my daughter.Only issue we ran into she was 5 &he stated he wouldn’t work on children under the age of 6.My daughter had to wait 3 months to get into a specialist,we then had to drive over 2 hours to the specialist for a meet & greet. We then had to make that drive again for next apt.The 4 months it took for her too get her teeth taken care of,the cavity ended up progressing &she had to have a tooth pulled along with a cap on another tooth. The specialist told me there is absolutely no reason that her regular dentist could not take care of the remainder that needed to be done.I already had an apt with her regular dentist so I called in to tell them this. They then told me our old dentist retired &her apt would be yet another meet & greet. The dentist seemed less than interested in working on a child,I noticed that before he even started. My daughter, of course cried when she got the needle stuck in her little gums, they weren’t consoling to her at all, thank god I remained in the room to comfort her.(She did have one older gal that worked with her on a previous visit, whom I will say did an outstanding job with her &talking to her &explaining everything)mind you my daughter was scared because the last time she had a tooth pulled. She did excellent. She was scared, &yes she cried, but she tried her best to stay calm, she never screamed or panicked or moved. She raised her hand& stayed there unmoving. The young dentist, Allan Baker, had already numbed her.Did one tooth. The other tooth they had planned on doing they told me,they even had to adjust the bill afterwards, since they ended up not doing the second. The second tooth was RIGHT next to the other tooth. He said he was going to have to refer her to someone else that they gave her a try &it’s just not working out. That he normally won’t touch a child’s teeth unless they are 13 years &up.She was crying but behaving. She was very well mannered, she again did not move, she kept her mouth open. She was being so good! This man flat out told me I could go to a referral or just wait it out &see what happens it may just fall out. By this point I’m frustrated.I asked the assistant, I said the tooth that is left needing to be fixed, how much longer until that baby tooth falls out?He had left long ago, couldn’t be bothered to talk to his patient or patients mother… the assistant answered I’m not sure, let me look….She said that one will fall out when she is around 10 years of age.By this point i’m floored.I go to pay. Rewind to before this visit at the meet & greet with him.I was told I had a bill that I was sure I paid, but it had been weeks since this &we are in process of moving. They said they may just have “forgotten to click the paid button” no joke! To go home &find the bill.I couldn’t find the bill with everything going on.I tell them I will just go ahead &pay it again with the new balance owed at my last visit.I confirmed with them that this was my out standing balance for today &the remaining owed on account. They stated yes & I was charged 199.And some change.Only to receive another bill a week later in the mail for 113.26.When I finally have a minute to call, I call &ask what my billing looks like. She told me I have a balance of $148.&some odd change. WHAT!! It’s gone up &we haven’t even been back in.She stated my insurance didn’t pay for a cleaning. My insurance covers half.Fine, need to talk to insurance but the numbers aren’t adding up regardless& then I am told, well before your insurance it would have been 171.So which is it? Insurance did or didn’t pay?I wasn’t going to make a post, & just let by gones be by gones. But enough is enough.my daughter was so upset when she left, saying she tried to be good why doesn’t he want to be her dentist anymore what did I do wrong? We will be searching for a new qualified dentist.
