Dr. Specht us an amazing dentist. The waiting area is clean comfortable and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They can get you in in the event of an emergency for emergency treatment. My husband got in short notice for an abscess and was treated that day, very happy with his experience. He was also called personally to be asked how he was feeling after a root canal by the dentist herself.
I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have seen CJ. All of my kids love her and her staff as well as my husband. I reccomend this office often.

Would have given this dentist 5 stars but there's a couple of things preventing me from doing so: She has a very loud laugh which is endearing at first but gets a little obnoxious after about 3 minutes. She's very rough with the needle. She might as well whipped out a longbow, pulled a dull arrow out of her quiver, doused the arrowhead with novocaine, and shot me in the lower lip with the accuracy of a archer diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I will be coming back however because the staff are so wonderfully pleasant and kind.

What a fantastic staff. We just transferred over and now we do everything we need in Nashwauk. Dr. CJ Spect is a gem. What a great role model as well being a hometown Grad. All around wonderful treatment from front desk to chair.

Love love love this dental office. It is so inviting as you first walk in. The receptionist, Shannon, greets you promptly with a wonderful smile on her face. She is so accomodating and friendly. Then the dentist C.J. is awesome. She is very good at her job with personality plus. Her hygentists and assistants always have done spectacular work as well. My husband and I switched to Up North dental when our dentist retired and we could not be more pleased.

I called to make an appointment. I was told by the secretary that I had cancelled twice and hung up on her once and I did not tell her why I had cancelled. The second time I cancelled I was broke. Since they make me pay in full each time I couldn't go.The secretary started bitching at me that I just can't call and cancel. So yes I hung up on her. I don't have to take this from a secretary. And since when does a patient have to have an explanation as to why they have to cancel . My cancellations were made within their limits. They could have gotten someone else in my time slot.Then She told me the dentist will not see me because of these cancellations. WOW. I will have to find a new dentist she told me.I do not have dental insurance.I get 10 percent off for paying cash. Are no insurance patients being weeded out ?They know I cannot afford to get new teeth or caps etc. I don't have all my teeth anymore. So my little bit of dentistry wouldn't make them rich that's for sure. I read other reviews here. It sounds like other people have been treated rudely by a secretary there also. I got in at my new dentist the next day. Glad to be out of this dentists office. Thanks for refusing to treat me because of 2 cancellations. I don't have to put up with rude people. So bye up north dentist..

I am very pleased with the work Dr. Specht and her staff have done for me. They have been very friendly and professional and funny too. We use to go to Tower, so we definitely enjoy the shorter drive as we live in Virginia.

C.J. Has an awesome dental office going. I'm new to her new practice, and Shannon got me in the next day. I am in need of some immediate work, an am scheduled within a week of my initial visit! I can't say enough good things about C.J. Anyone in need of dental work on the Iron Range should give her a try! Her staff is great to deal with, so I don't understand the negative posts. Five star all the way!

I had two teeth pulled at up north dental. That I believe were unecessary to pull because they did not stop the pain I was experiencing. When I returned three times complaining of pain. They said it was probably just my wisdom tooth trying to push through. Since I did not receive help for the continued pain. I sought out another dentist. Who by exam said there appeared to be an infection in my wisdom tooth ( at additional expense) I was referred to an oral surgeon who determined that surgery was necessary. At more expense. After surgery the pain was gone, This was the problem all along. I sent a letter to CJ expressing my opinion that the two teeth pulled was unnecessary and I should not be required to continue payments for them. It was ignored and I was threatened with sending my outstanding bill to collections.
Therefore I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.
