I love this place! I have been a patient of Dr. Swanson’s for many years and I have always experienced everyone in this office to be kind, friendly, and lots of fun. I feel like family here. I recently had a new crown put in, and from beginning to end I was treated with kindness and thoughtfulness. This staff takes the fear away. I highly recommend Dr. Swanson and his wonderful staff!

Dr. Swanson is the most amazing dentist! He is honest and conservative. He doesn't pressure you into getting multiple or unnecessary treatments. Dr. Swanson explains everything in detail. I felt like I had a good understanding of what he was doing and why. Also, I'm a total weirdo when it comes to needles, and Dr. Swanson was very accommodating. I couldn't believe how easy it was (for me anyway) to get some fillings done today! I was dreading it and extremely nervous, but Dr. Swanson made the whole experience comfortable and even pleasant! A good dentist is hard to find in Reno. I'm glad I found Dr. Swanson!

I've Never Felt More Comfortable At The Dentist In My Life. Absolutely The Most Kind, Understanding Dentist You Will Possibly Ever Meet. He Explained Everything Very Simple And Very Professional. He Gave Me Several Choices & He Took Really Good Care Of Me When I Believed It Was About To Be A Nightmare. I Had A Horrible Dentist When I Was A Child, The Dentist Dr Swanson Helped Me Get Over My Fear Of Going To The Dentist. I Respect & Appreciate The Dentist So Much More Now. I Honestly Couldn't Be Happier. Thank You So Much!

I absolutely love this place! The staff is very professional and friendly. Dr. Swanson is the best he always makes sure that I'm comfortable. He tells me if you need a break let me know. He also knows that it takes more to numb me than most but he always makes sure I'm numb. I'm also allergic to lidocaine so he found a good alternative that works wonders. I'm also very cavity prone which is not too common but he does take different steps to prevent that and gives me different things to do my part in preventing also. I used to hate going to the dentist until I found Dr.Swanson and his entire staff make it more pleasurable for me just to let you know how serious I am I've fallen asleep while he's worked on my teeth on several occasions just to sum things up! I would recommend him to anyone!😁😁😁😁😁

Dr. Swanson and staff are wonderful! I take all three of my kids there. His patience and professionalism are unmatched. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist for all ages.

My second appointment with Dr. Swanson was on February 13, 2019, to determine if a crown replacement could be accomplished. It was and I have a temporary crown to be replaced with a permanent one on March 1. Communication from Dr. Swanson was clear and concise with all options clearly stated. Rene was an excellent assistant. The procedure started at 8:00 am and was completed by 9:30 am. At 6:30 pm I received a call from Dr. Swanson to make sure all was well with me. In all my 83 years I have never had such caring treatment from a medical professional

Very Nice People. I use to be afraid of anything to do with the dentist because of my past history with the dentist. Doctor Swanson helped relax me by letting me know everything was going to be ok and explained the whole procedure to me. Doctor Swanson was understanding with me being scared. Im never changing my dentist again .

Visits occurring July-August 2017

Wow! Dr. Swanson's office is as good as it gets. His entire staff is professional, friendly, and regards patient care with the utmost importance. I can not stress this enough: If you are afraid of dentists and having dental work done, you *MUST* come to this office. There is no better place!

A little background for me: I'm your typical American citizen. A patriot. A lover of pizza, hot dogs, ice cream and cake. I was also terrified of the dentist, as are so many of us. All of those carb loaded treats tend to do a lot of damage to the teeth. Although I take pretty good care of my dental hygiene at home, it had been 10 years since I lost dental coverage and my history with dentists had me terrified.

Alas, however, it was time for a check up. Because my last visit with a hygienist left me somewhat traumatized, I diligently sought a new office to take care of my dental needs that would also be covered by my newly received insurance plan. Swanson Dental Group didn't have a lot of reviews, but all of them described an experience I sought and I decided on this office.

Best decision I ever made! I do not kid you when I say that Garrett and his staff do such outstanding work, that--if I had to--I would likely travel out of state in order to receive their care.

I've had several visits in the past couple of months:

*1 examination with x-rays: This was my first visit, and Diana completely put me at ease and we actually had a lot of fun, pretending it was a photo shoot. I knew then that this office was a winner.

*2 visits for deep cleanings: 2 quads done at a time. The first visit was with part time hygienist Nancy. This was where the real terror, for me, sank in. The last hygienist I saw was cranky, in a hurry, and really tore into my gums with no regard to the pain she was causing me. Nancy was so gentle, she didn't even numb me up in the slightest, even though it was an option. I was very anxious at the beginning of this visit, but when it was over I felt great.

Second visit with part time hygienist Heather also went amazing! She used a cavitron to clean my teeth and gums this time around. A little more pain than the scraper Nancy used, but she was very tentative to my needs, making sure I was doing alright at every little wince, and it felt like my gums were truly cleansed.

*I also had my wisdom teeth extracted from Dr. Swanson himself. He prescribed an oral sedative to treat my anxiety before the appointment. He was very careful making sure I was completely numb, offered me breaks when I needed it. Although I wasn't put to sleep, all 3 extractions went great. Honestly, Dr. Swanson did such a great job that I realized I really didn't need to be put out. Plus it was kind of fun being aware of everything that was going on!

*Finally, most recently, I had a crown put in. This process was a little bit longer than the single visit extraction for my 3 wisdom teeth. Now, if you're like me, and you hate the whirring of the tools, or the scraping of the metal against your teeth, I have great news: With permission, Dr. Swanson and his staff allow you to wear earphones and listen to music while you're having your work done! This is great for me, because one of the things that scared me the most about dental work was the sound of the tools being used on my teeth.

The visit for the crown went awesome, of course, and Dr. Swanson and Renee took extra care to make sure the impression/mold for my crown was absolutely perfect.

So to summarize, this office is definitely as good as it gets! So if you're uneasy or not sure about where to go, choose this place!! You won't regret it!

Edit: I also wanted to mention, Jenny and Megan did a great job helping to put me at ease. I called a couple hours before my second visit, for a cleaning, and they both talked me through it and helped instill confidence in my visit. Thanks you two!

This place makes trips to the dentist pleasant and uplifting! I recommend them to anyone and everyone. Dr. Garrett Swanson is patient, encouraging and all around the best dentist I’ve ever seen. What’s more - the staff are all just as awesome! Would give 6 stars if I could!

I love the staff, hygienists,and dentist. They are friendly, professional, and set us at ease every time our family is in for an appointment. They are a great family dentist and we feel lucky to have them.
