Very pleased with my initial visit here. All staff members that I encountered were pleasant and very helpful. I appreciated being walked through the entire process and felt well informed after my exam and cleaning about my dental health.

So yesterday i decide to call in to schedule a cleaning done as i havent had one in a bit. Someone happened to have cancelled an appointment for the next day (today) so i got put in there instead at 10am. The interaction with the lady over the phone had nothing to do with what im about to say. Nothing was mentioned about it then. Mind you i live about 25 minutes away if there is no traffic at all. Today it took me around 40 minutes to get there. So i come in at 10 to get my cleaning and they tell me that before I can even go in to get my cleaning done there is a balance due of $108 from 2016 that was not paid by the insurance supposedly. I told her i have not been made aware of this and she proceeded to ask if any changes have happened since my last visit (change of address) so i give her my new address. She then asks about my insurance provider, which i had to search for , but i gave her a card and she took it to the "office manager". So they have me wait a few minutes before Tammy the "office manager" comes out and tells me that she had verified my insurance but that they could not see me till i paid the $108. So i asked what the $108 was for and she said "im not sure it doesnt say but you have to pay it before we can see you" excuse me ? Since when should i pay for something i dont know what im paying for ?! Your incompetence is not my problem. I explained to her as to when i called in yesterday i was not made aware of this and what kind of drive i had to make just to get told this. I dont mind paying the $108 and i told her i would on the 22nd (when i get paid) but i want an explanation as to what im paying that for . But when i told her that she just said that she will reschedule and i can pay it then. Lady was rude so i told her Ill find a new dentist. So she barks out" i'll just send you to collections" are you serious ? What kind kf "office manager" do you have working for you? I told her id make sure to leave a review. So as shes going to go grab her business card she says "You don't want to piss me off". HA. I explained to her she coulda called me and she says "well i dont know if your number was good". Ive had the same phone number the last 6 years . Maybe try doing your job and that wouldnt happen.

Update: DR Alexander called me and apologized for the office manager and offered to take off the balance and told me I could come back in . Candy called me later and set up an appointment for April 3rd.

Update: Dr Alexander called me back and said they actually decided to drop me as a patient . This is my final update.

I have high anxiety and they treated me so good and didn’t rush and explained everything in detail and reassured me everything was gonna be fine. 10/10 recommend!

Having someone proding in your mouth is for me a daunting thought. Dr. Albertson is the most patient, thoughtful and considerant dentist I know. He is efficient and professional. I can't consider going elsewhere. Check them out.

I grew up at this dentistry.. And I am very disappointed with the way it has turned out. I had an appointment today for examination and cleaning. My dental hygienist was very rude and indirectly insulted me the entire time, not only did she grab the wrong panorex by mistake, that i didn't really care about. She treated me disrespectfully like a child, lectured me about the ways of a "clean person," and acted very immaturely when the x-ray mouthpieces cut my gums when I bit down because they were incorrectly placed in my mouth. When I complained about these issues, I was ignored. I really hope this issue is resolved, unfortunately I will be seeing a new dentist.

Fixing my smile has been a long and emotional road. Winston smiles done everything they could to make it as painless and as special as possible. My teeth could not be more perfect and I could not be happier. Thank you Dr's for caring and making me smile again.

Very Knowledgeable & friendly Dental Hygienist did an excellent job of cleaning my teeth today. I will definitely go back to her & this practice the next time I need my teeth cleaned or an other dental service.

They lied to us about being in-network with the state employee dental plan, but they are not a service provider for MetLife. They will say they can file with MetLife, but won't tell you that they're an out-of-network provider. We now owe nearly $900 for three fillings, one extraction, and two cleanings. This is after insurance has already paid them another $1000 as an out of network provider. That means it was nearly $1900 for all of those services. Total nonsense.

Their prices are a rip off. I called a few other dentists and asked what those services would've cost if we had paid out-of-pocket and none of them totaled over $500. It was even less than that had we used an in-network provider.

Tammy, the office billing manager, also said there are no MetLife in-network providers in Winston Salem, but after doing a search for providers on the MetLife website, it shows there are 872 providers.

Save your money if you are a state employee and take your business elsewhere.
