I was there for a cleaning/checkup, which was fine. I have good dental hygiene, so there wasn’t much cleaning to do. I was concerned about a growth under my tongue, but the dentist forgot to give me a referral to an oral surgeon. Now I will have to contact them again….
The hygienist was friendly enough, but raised my blood pressure by talking negatively about social issues I care deeply about. A patient should not have to hear so many opinions that a person’s political affiliation is obvious. I don’t care about his/her viewpoints.
Finally, as a 66 year old with health issues, I was very concerned that masks were not required by patients. The waiting area is very small and there is not adequate space or ventilation! When I arrived, I was the only one of five patients who wore a mask.
Truthfully, I plan to find a different dentist.

This is the best dentist office I've ever been to. I recommend it to everyone my nephew wasn't scared he was so comfortable. Most kids hate the dentist but this staff awesome. They were very concerned about making us feel important. My nephew can't wait to go back. Thank you guys very much for the 5 star treatment.

The entire staff was absolutely fantastic. I was in terrible pain when I arrived and all the staff I dealt with was very concerned and comforting, and very professional and personable at the same time. The office is run like a well oiled machine and I can't say enough about the dentist that worked on me. I would recommend Summer Dental to everyone, especially those who fear the dentist. I made a visit today, 4/18/22, As always the staff was great! Whenever I have an issue or think I might have an issue, I always leave the office more than satisfied. Thanks to all of you that put up with me!!!!!!! No need to be apprehensive of getting dental work done when you are dealing with Summer Dental of Shawnee. Great job đź‘Ź

My family member’s issue was immediately addressed. The doctor and staff were wonderful. The patient’s issue is the top priority. They explain the options available, without putting pressure on the patient. Yes, the office is under construction, but it isn’t affecting the service and care you receive!

I definitely have anxiety going into the dentist… but not here! All of them were so friendly. They talked to me, showed me the information I needed, and really took the time. They even got me in last minute same day! Cleaning was very thorough.

While the dental work was ok. Before our initial new patient routine exam, we asked if they took our insurance. The answer was yes. We received a notice from our insurance that stated that they would not pay the bill. We contacted Summer Dental about it. We were told that it was a coding problem and we didn't need to worry. Both my husband and I both had additional procedures and before each we checked if the insurance would be accepted and assured that it would be. We now have received a bill from Summer Dental stating that we are overdue and owe for my procedures almost one thousand dollars! My husband's will be higher due to his having additional issues, I expect the final bill to be about 4 thousand dollars that the insurance will not pay because the dentist is not in the network. The dentist that just retired from this location was in the network. We were not told that we would not be seeing that dentist until the dentist showed up during the exam. We assumed wrongly that the dentists in the office were all in the network based on the information we were told repeatedly when we checked. My husband was in their office last week and at no time did they notify him that our insurance was not going to be accepted due to the new dentist not being in the network.
We have been contacted and told the bill was sent in error. They are working on the insurance. We appreciate the response and apology.
