I went in to have my teeth whitened and had an amazing experience. Madi was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She made the whole experience easy and actually enjoyable. I highly recommend this office. The front office staff was sweet and friendly.

Not happy with my experience. I had made an appt for my tooth and gum due to having excruciating pain. My mouth was examined, X-rayd, and cleaned, while poked and prodded on major pain. Nothing was done to the tooth that was in pain. I was told to have future appts in order to have dealt with my back bottom tooth and gum pain. Also notified that I possibly might need a root canal.
When finished cleaning, the dental assistant gave me a goody bag and brought me to the billing receptionist. Never handed me a prescription paper for amoxicillon. The receptionist asked me about some things with my mouth that the dentist didn't even discuss with me. She didn't even mention the description of the bill to me. I left the building in excruciating pain as I arrived. My boyfriend ended up calling the dental office for getting the amoxicillon prescription called in and filled at the pharmacy.
Purely disappointed and will never return.

Smiles dental is wonderful! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always able to answer questions. They are flexible and have always been able to get me in if I had a dental emergency (chipped tooth). They are great!

I just got a tooth extracted. I have a semi-bad gag reflex and they were very understanding about it. Best dentist I've been to thus far. The assistant was great along with the doctor. I believe I found my permanent dentist!

Dr Perry is my favorite! Not only does he offer top notch dentistry, he's funny too. He always manages to drop his punchline just after rendering me unable to speak! And the cherry on top? The entire office has a positive vibe.

My last visit was unfortunately very unpleasant. I was under the impression that my insurance would pay for my flouride treatment. I ended up paying 29 dollars for flouride I really didnt want in the first place.
Secondly I have been pressured to buy the invisilgn braces. They hygenists and Dr Parry made me feel really self conscious of my teeth. First they wanted to buy the invislign braces which I declined to do. Because that would cost 4000 dollars out of my pocket. When I already had braces 10 years ago. Last week the denist wants me to get crowns for 8 of my teeth which will cost over 1000 dollars a tooth. I can afford that. And I dont need work on my teeth. They dont hurt. I think I will switch denists and hope for the best.

I moved to Eugene a few years ago so to be near my younger daughter and her family. Because of business requirements, I needed to move back to Kittery, Maine. Just before I left Eugene, toward the end of May, 2017 I broke a front tooth and needed a quick, but temporary solution to the problem until I could see my regular dentist, Dr. Carolyn Chase in Portsmouth, NH. I called Smiles Dental on 2201 Willamette Street in Eugene. I was given an appointment for the following morning. I brought the broken tooth/crown with me.
I was very impressed with the professional behavior and attitudes of the whole staff until I learned what were the charges for the Essex appliance. The day before the dentists took molds of my mouth so to make an appropriate appliance using my broken-off tooth and crown -- the result was very, very good, allowing me to return to the East coast and to my usual dentist wearing the the temporary solution. I was advised to see my regular dentist as soon as possible, which I did do. During the course of my dental examination, Dr. Chase asked me about the procedure and the charges. She was stunned to learn that I was charged $831.00 for the appliances, even though I have no dental insurance. I paid the full amount with a credit card. Dr. Chase stated that in her experience I was charged way too much and advised me to register a complaint about the overcharges. Dr. Chase's office charges about $46. 00 for the same procedure which includes staff time and dental materials.

Such a great experience, everyone was so friendly, professional, gentle and kind. We plan to switch all of our dental care needs to this office. We are happy to have found you.

I really wanted to like these folks (they are very nice) and keep on with them, but so many things have been screwed up there that I can't go back.
A couple years ago they did a filling. It created a big food trap and I kept getting food stuck in there. I went back and they looked at it and said that it'd fill in naturally as the gum expanded. It didn't. About 8 months later I went back and and they finally fixed it.
Then I trusted them again and had them do a few more fillings. This was a disaster. First, despite my reservations, they numbed the entire wrong side of my face (top and bottom). When the doctor came in he just laughed it off "Well, at least you got some free numbing." Then his work created another big food trap. I went back in a couple months later and he said he couldn't do anything about it.
They also screwed up the billing. They said my insurance would cover it, but it didn't. They sent me a bill for over $300. I would have picked a cheaper filling if they'd told me accurately what my insurance coverage was. They also sent the bill to my ex-wife, 3 times, despite me telling them my correct address each time. Eventually after some complaining they knocked some money off the bill.
Before I went there I hadn't been to dentist for awhile, but my teeth didn't hurt. Now I have one big food trap and several smaller ones, giving me gums that get food caught, bleed, and need constant maintenance. I don't trust going in there to have them fix it because I fear they'll just numb the wrong side again, do shoddy work again, and then screw up the billing again.
Sorry, they are very nice, but maybe going to a chain dentist is a bad idea.
