Pippin Dental Care

Dr. Pippin and his staff are amazing! Dr. Pippin has done a lot of dental work for me. There is never any pain during procedures and the dental work is high quality. I highly recommend!

While in the area on vacation, I experienced a periodontal emergency. From the initial phone call to request an appointment, to walking out of the office not even one hour later, Dr. Pippin and his staff were friendly and courteous. My problem was taken care of in a professional manner with concern for my comfort. I am very satisfied with Dr. Pippin and as a frequent traveler to this area am happy to have someone I can trust take care of my dental needs.

I switched to Pippin Dental Care because I couldn't get an appointment at my regular dentist. It is very hard to get time off during the week. Not only have they been able to work with my schedule. Twice I have had dental emergencies where I have broken a tooth and they were able to see me same day I called for appointment. This last office visit I had broken tooth and needed a crown. Usually in the past at my old dentist it would have taken multiple visits to get permanent crown. I am very impressed with the modern technology that they have. I walked out with permanent crown on the same day I called to get an appointment. Very happy with the prompt service I received.

I’ve always had a fear of dentists, but Laura put me at ease from the first phone call. She was so patient and understanding. The entire staff was exceptionally courteous. Dr. Pippin had the most empathetic demeanor. I’ll be back with my entire family.

I was never comfortable going to a dentist, but knowing Dr. Pippin has been in the area as long as he has, and hearing what some of my friends had to say about him I decided to do some research before having major work done. On his website I found that he keeps up with the latest technology and offers IV conscious sedation so I chose him. He was great.

The staff is great too. Always friendly and knowledgeable.

I have had various dental procedures done over the years at Pippin Dental Care. Everyone there is very professional with an eye for excellence. In addition, I have always been very comfortable and have never had any pain during or after a procedure. The setting is beautiful and the office is comfortable. In my experience as a patient, I can say that this office sets the standard for dental care in this area.

I absolutely loved Dr. Pippin and his team. They really did a wonderful job on my teeth and made me feel so welcomed and comfortable there. Unfortunately due to insurance I am having to change dentist but I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Pippin Dental Care, Sevierville, TN. Crown in the back of my mouth fell out. The crown was in perfect condition. I immediately rinsed my mouth with water and then used ACT Fluoride Rinse. The crown went right back in place beautifully, no problem at all. I bit down and my bite was perfect, it was as if the crown never fell out. The next morning I called Dr. Pippin’s office. There was no answer even though their website said they were open on Thursday’s. It was over 5 days since my crown fell out and I put it back in when I finally got in. I had no problem at all with it. I ate & brushed my teeth just fine with no problem at all. I could have just left it the way it was but I wanted to make sure my tooth underneath was fine with no decay. I never asked how much they’d charge for my visit if it just needed to be cemented back on. I thought maybe it would be $120.
They had me signing all kinds of papers before I was seen by Dr. Pippin. Including one that stated if he damaged any teeth by the one he was working on I’d be responsible for paying for them to be fixed. I thought that was odd but I signed it. And of course the piece of paper agreeing to pay for whatever his charges were had to be signed.
I was actually looking forward to meeting Dr. Pippin and having a Dentist here.
What a terrible experience I had with him. He was not friendly or welcoming AT ALL. He made me feel as if I were a dead pig with maggots crawling all over me. I have a number of crowns in my mouth so I’m familiar with normal procedures with the crowns and the temporaries. I was also a dental assistant when I was younger. So Dr. Pippin checked for sensitivity. My tooth was not sensitive at all, no pain, which is great so he just needed to cement the crown back on. He said he was going to clean it up and then put the crown on. He did not brush an antiseptic on my tooth before putting the crown on. The antiseptic has a distinctive odor which I did not smell and my past experiences is I can feel it get brushed on. You want that before covering up the tooth with a crown or a filling. Next cement goes in the crown, the crown gets put on & you bite down hard on a cotton/gauze roll for a couple of minutes while the cement hardens. Not with Dr. Pippin you don’t. He had his assistant holding the light that hardens the material they use for tooth colored fillings. What?!!! Why was he doing it this way I wondered? On the outside of my crown! I was panicking but I was afraid to question him because I never got a price on what my visit would cost, I thought if I asked questions he’d charge me some absurd amount of money. He didn’t have me bite on anything either, no cotton/gauze roll. He asked me how my bite was and it was majorly messed up. My crown was not in the tooth socket the way it was before he put it in. The rest of my teeth did not touch when I closed my mouth, he had my crown so far out it was terrible. He’s the Dentist and didn’t even get my crown back in where it was. I was so upset. He then had me bite down on something like carbon paper to see how my bite was. The paper marks the the tooth and crown and shows the dentist what needs to be adjusted. Well he started drilling away on my perfect crown. He had me biting so many times on this paper and he drilled so many times over and over and over again On my perfectly good crown that fit perfectly when I put it back in my mouth after it fell out. My anxiety was so high as he continued to drill on my perfectly good crown. I wanted to cry in that chair, it was so traumatic that I knew he was damaging my crown as he drilled on it so many times. At one point I said “oh my” & he questioned me with a scorned voice “what did you say?!!!”. He then said he was going to polish/smooth it out. Well the inside is still rough when I touch it with my tongue.
My bill was $220, just to put my crown back in. I questioned why it was so much & was told I was charged $81 for an oral exam/check. I wasn’t checked or examined. Was told this so now they can put me in their system as an established patient.

Enjoyed the ceiling videos while in the chair. Julie always does an excellent job. I can honestly say that I actually like having my teeth cleaned when she does it. Dr. Pippin and staff has impressed us from day one. They run an outstanding facility and we feel very fortunate to have their services available to us.

I’ve been going here for the past 2 years and can honestly say you won’t find a nicer dentist around. His staff are always helpful and very professional. I absolutely love his hygienist as well. If you’re looking for a dental office that really cares about the patients then look no further.
