My experiences at Family Dentistry on 183 is always wonderful. The front desk associates are helpful at all times .
It’s always a pleasure meeting BeeTu the hygienist She is friendly and very skillful . She has great patience and makes me feel comfortable with my cleaning.
Richard Donkersgoed is my Dentist. I would gladly recommend him to family and friends. He is an awesome and caring gentleman.He takes the time to get to know his clients.

Super friendly staff and they're quick and efficient at what they do! During the cleaning, the hygienist asked several times if I was doing okay. They make sure you are comfortable throughout the appointment. I definitely recommend.

The staff is very kind and they all contribute to a lovely experience from the time you arrive to the time you leave. Their Covid-19 plan made me feel safe to visit for my cleaning and check-up. The coolest part about it is when they scan your teeth with a camera and create a 3D model of your teeth... I was like wow amazing.

I just got my teeth cleaned by Hannah and exam done by Dr. Hanak. This office is amazing and the staff is so friendly. I think this is the most thorough dental exam I've ever had. Cant wait to go back and definitely recommending my friends and family here.

Best Dentist in Texas in my opinion. The staff is always cheerful. The hygienist are great to joke and learn from. Dr Rick cares so much about how you are doing. More than just your teeth.

I have not been to a dentist in years due to lack of insurance. It was a relief to go here now that I have insurance and not feel judged. They were thorough, sincere and honest with me. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

The short story: Dr Helmick is absolutely incredible! She’s patient, kind, and thorough.

The long story: I moved in 2017 and started seeing a new dentist (not at Forest Family) near my new house. I went in for a normal cleaning. I didn’t have any issues, so I was surprised to hear that the dentist thought I would need 3 crowns ASAP. I’m no dental expert, so I obliged. Shortly after, my mouth hurt so badly that I could barely eat. I returned multiple times per month for at least 6 months complaining about the soreness and pain. The [old] dentist kept saying the same thing; Everything looks fine. I learned to live with the pain, and got on with my life. Two years later, I was eating lima beans (arguably the softest food on the planet) and could barely chew. I had had enough! I searched Yelp for the best dentist in Austin, and found Forest Family. I made an appointment and was in the office within a few days. I met Dr. Helmick on my first visit, and she immediately made me feel safe and heard. She took the time to talk to me about my concerns. She laid out a treatment plan and was honest about my options. Last week, I completed the plan. This is the first time I’ve been able to chew on both sides of my mouth in over three years! I can’t describe the relief I’m feeling. Dr. Helmick is top notch. If you’re struggling with finding a dentist you can trust, look no further. She’s the one.

I haven't been to the dentist in a while mainly because my experiences were never pleasant... I mean come on... dentists suck! But wow! When I came in for an exam and checkup I was blown away! The entire staff was awesome, I was completely distracted by the technology and netflix and before I knew it I was done! We went ahead and placed a filling and it was by far the most pleasant experience I have EVER had at a dentist! So much in fact... that I actually liked going and wanted to return! I have another appointment today and I couldn't be more excited to go to the dentist! Who would have thunk it :D

I went to their office yesterday and had the best experience!!! Dr. Rick worked on me and did an amazing job, I didn’t feel a thing with all that dental work. The hygienist who worked on me was very friendly and amazing as well. I just moved from Boston and needed a new dentist and I’ve found him. Would definitely recommend Dr. Rick to everyone!!! Definitely going back.

I've since visited a different dental office and they gave me a full check up and dental roadmap of the work I'd need to get into tip top shape. Forest would charge me 20k for everything including a lot of exorbitantly overpriced checkups and a heafty sum just for your dental records. Meanwhile my new dentist is charging me a quarter of what Forest is for everything, there was no egregious prices, they don't charge for your dental records, they didn't take a credit card hostage for payment plans. My previous reservations and fears were realized, and I certainly don't appreciate it.

My specific experience at this location that has prompted this review was that I was sent here because my usual doctor was on vacation, and this location was closer to my current home. Cool, more convenient. I went in and spoke with the doctor about a current and serious problem I was having, to which they didn't explain anything and prescribed me some pain medice with no plan on how to move forward- though she *did* give me an updated roadmap for my dental care that was *another* $8,000 on top of my already planned out $20k roadmap. She didn't even look in my mouth other than to look at the bump in my gums I went there for. I had to find out through a friend what it was- an abcess! And a very bad one, it swoll to about the size of a fat lima bean on my gums before it finally burst and my whole lower face was swelling. I got with my regular dentist and he wasn't sure why my roadmap was changed, and he said he would change it back which he did, but it was still poor practice on the dentists part to not educate me on a really serious issue I had and change my plan when it didn't even need changing.
