I visited BLVD Dentistry & Orthodontics for my annual check up and a minor mouth injury. Right off the bat, the check-in and registration process was easy. The office was well-kept, clean, and modern. I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Shah. She was incredibly professional and knowledgable. Furthermore, my mouth injury which lasted 2 weeks before I saw Dr. Shah went away within 3 days after I followed her instructions. I have now switched to BLVD permanently and I look forward to seeing Dr. Shah again. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

From the front office, to X-ray, to the dentist, to the hygienist. I’m horrible with names but they were ALL great from beginning to end. I’m more about efficiency and treatments that are necessary. They never pushed for anything. They made some recommendations as appropriate but never pushed for other purchases like other dental offices do. I greatly appreciate everything and would like to highly commend this practice for their care today. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back.

I came in today for a routine cleaning, and something else.
Dr. Barrilleaux was amazing, she performed a procedure that turned out beautiful.
The staff is very friendly, I look forward to my appointments every time I come.
I definitely recommend Dr. Barrilleaux, and her services.

If you don't have the time to treat your patients don't schedule them! They made me wait a combined 3.5 hours over two visits. I scheduled my appointments for early on Saturdays, since I figured they would be on time. The first time I showed up at 9am for a cleaning and xrays, I didn't leave until 11:30am because they never had a dentist and a hygienist free at the same time and kept treating other patients ahead of me. I was willing to assume it was a mistake and scheduled a follow up to get a crown. I showed up at 9am and after numbing me and hooking me up to the gas they walked away. An hour later at 10am I asked what was going on, apparently they had another patient run long and were going to be done in 30 minutes. At 10:30 I asked where the dentist was and she was doing an exam on a different patient. They waited and left me hooked up to gas and numbed for close to an hour and half and just ignored me. I eventually walked out because I had things I needed to take care of and didn't want to spend all day at the dentist for them to ignore me.

I had to get a cavity filled here and it has been 3 months since and I’m still experiencing extreme sensitivity for that tooth (hot and cold), which was not there prior to the work they did. I don’t even think I needed a filling in the first place - I had never had a cavity in my life until getting a cleaning here.
Edit - what would you suggest to fix it? Root canal and a crown? $$$

I went to BLVD Dentistry in the Heights for a few years. Around 2017-2018, a new dentist and team arrived. The hygienist made my gums bleed. But by far the worst is the dentist - Dr. Tina Shah. The dentist is operating with malpractice. She filled 3 cavities on my teeth in 2017-2018 and in my last appointment in December 2018 wanted to fill 3 more. During one of the fillings she didn’t use enough numbing medication. I have never had more than 1 cavity every few years so SIX in less than two years seemed odd. I asked if I could wait to fill the 3 new “cavities” and she told me if I waited another 6 months I’d have to get crowns. This alarmed me and almost scared me into getting the other 3 fillings. Before getting the last 3 filled, I called a friend who is a dentist and he recommended I get a second opinion. I went to another dentist in Houston, who told me I had no cavities and my teeth were in great health. The second dentist said there was zero need to fill anything and she doubts the previous 3 fillings were needed either. This dentist needs to be disbarred for malpractice. She is filling teeth (and likely other services) just to make money and threatening you into treatments you don’t need. Don’t go here!!!!! I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

I have had 2 oral surgeries at blvd dentistry . Dr . Beetar , the oral surgeon listened and cared about my concerns about the procedures I was having during the consultation. He was very nice and professional during the procedures and helped ease my dental anxiety . I have had bad experiences
(When I was a younger kid in dentists offices ) , but this was far from one of those bad experiences .
The front office was very friendly and always had smiling faces and welcomed me when I walked in the door . Such a positive environment
Thank y’all so much for giving me a positive dental experience . I will recommend anyone that is looking for a dentist or oral surgeon in the future

I never post reviews but BLVD dentistry is worthy of zero stars and I would personally look elsewhere.
-The oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth surgery was incredibly rude and said my face would be screwed up if I didn’t get an additional $250 scan prior to surgery. Felt like a money grab instead of a genuine concern.
-I’ve had 10+ appointments in the last two years and they have never been on time for appointments. Expect to wait a minimum 30 mins past your appointment time (even if it’s the first one of the day).
-Between my insurance and a special they had for Invisalign, I received a great deal and moved forward with the treatment. Once I completed my treatment, I had moved out of state for graduate school (and no had dental insurance). However, I received noticed months later that insurance wasn’t going to pay for the remainder Invisalign. But I was already done with it!! This was because of the payment schedule between Blvd and the insurance company, not me. Long story short, BLVD screwed me over and I had to pay an additional $600 after my treatment was complete.
-They failed to order my Invisalign retainer so I had to wait longer and schedule an additional appointment (I was visiting Houston from out of state so this was another inconvenience).
Overall, as soon as my Invisalign was complete, I would never step foot in there again. Look elsewhere— this business does not deserve the ratings that it currently holds.
