We love the staff at Family Legacy Dental. Our whole family goes there from our 6 year old grandson to his 65 year old grandpa. The dentists are great!

Do NOT go to this office. I went in a few years ago, and they told me that I needed to have 4 crowns, and 10 fillings, to the sum of $5,000. I didn't trust what they were telling me, and only went to them because my original dentist did not take my insurance. Well, I decided I wanted a 2nd opinion, and was glad I did. My normal dentist said that the report they gave me was to only take out every filling I had in my mouth and replace them. The crowns were not necessary at all, and all I needed was to have a SMALL cavity fixed. When I realized they were a money making scam, I paid out of pocket to see my normal dentist, and refused to ever go back.

On June 11, 2020, I went in for a root canal and a tooth extraction. I asked for sedation. They gave me a cup of nasty juice, nitrous gas, and a local injection, but it wasn’t enough. I was screaming in pain throughout the whole procedure. Do not recommend. I decided not to go back.
June 29: they talked me into returning to try to making things better. I had a crown put on the tooth they performed a root canal on. They did a better job with the nitrous gas (it actually worked this time), but a clumsy nurse managed to dislocate my right side jaw disc while yanking a plastic x-ray film holding tool out of my mouth. I could only open my jaw half as wide as before and my bite was misaligned, so I couldn't accurately verify the crown seating. I had to go and see a chiropractor to put it back in immediately. If they wanted to do a better job, they failed.

I give these guys 100 Stars, come on google, some people really deserve it!! This is also a long review because I feel like explaining my circumstances paints a picture of how thankful I am for this office.
I called on a Monday, we had an appointment on Wednesday and fit me in for a follow up on a Thursday in the same week. I didn’t have my insurance cards or numbers on hand and they were super helpful by calling Medicaid for me— seriously you don’t know how much that means to a Mom who forgets to do these things ahead of time.
I was very pleased with first visit for my 1.5 and 3 year old. I was amazed my youngest, who had tongue and lip tie lasered by an awesome pediatric dentist around 3 months, showed little distress and they were very good to respect her limits for a first time visit. My oldest, who had never had a cleaning before, acted like this was something she’s done on the regular. Anytime my kids don’t cry is a win, and this office was so great in caring for kids.
They recommended a cavity be filled with my oldest and I was sad when we couldn’t get an appointment the next day 😂— mainly because we were moving and changing insurances and I was hoping to get it squared away for convenience sake. I asked to be called if they had cancellations.
On Thursday morning I made an appointment with another office, just a few blocks east, in hopes to just get the cavity filled to prevent any more decay. The difference was night and day. I’m a patient person and under the circumstances was fine with how long we waited. As I Over heard/saw comments/interactions with doctor, staff, another parent and patient I started to get some red flag and not so confident feelings. She also had eaten breakfast (about 5 hours prior) and a few gold fish that morning so I was deducing that they wouldn’t actually be able to fill the cavity that day.
This dentist did not give me confidence in working with kids as he barely— if at all— greeted my child before touching her face and using normal instruments in her mouth. Unlike the legacy family dental technician and doctors, she was more resistant to his exam.
He noted possible additional cavities that Family Legacy didn’t mention and because of this wanted to get a full mouth X-ray for my daughter. We were about to get to it when he instructed me on how to pin her down. She was already over it as they’d struggled to get her to hold still for the initial X-ray of the one tooth and when I started holding her, he’d walked away and I asked the technician if this was necessary. She sympathetically said I could ask the doctor. Well I did voice my concern and questioned why she needed this done. When I did I also confirmed we weren’t going to be treated that day, I told him I didn’t feel comfortable or good feelings about all of this, thanked them, and more or less— bolted out the door. Not sure why I felt so much flight mode, I decided to follow up with Family Legacy.
When I called and asked if they had anything today (Thursday, June 28) they initially said they didn’t have anything until July 30th (or maybe 3rd, idk). I explained that I hadn’t fed my daughter lunch yet, we were going to be moving and changing insurances so really I was calling “just in case” kind of thing.
A few minutes later I was told they could see us in 20 minutes as long as she doesn’t eat anything.
We got to see the same dental tech as yesterday (dark haired male that I didn’t catch the name). There was little wait time. The dentist did a thorough job with the treatment— he thought he was done before noticing the decay was farther up. The treatment was fast and efficient and now my daughter is happy with a healthy tooth, 2 little figurine prizes, and sadly (for me) not as drowsy as I thought she’d be (thanks for not over drugging my child). Oh and the best part is, I didn’t have to distress her by making her get a full mouth x Ray and she still loves the dentist. She’ll proably ask to go every day for a few weeks.
Thank you so much for helping us under tight timeline— Moms need more resources like you!

I hate going to the dentist!
Unfortunately though, I have to go often to get my teeth cleaned and was very happy about the experience I had this time around. I am scared to death of everyone holding a needle and all those scary tools they use... but Angela was wonderful. She even managed to make me laugh!
Everyone is very friendly at the office and I liked the environment there.
Of course, I still hate it... but hey, if they can make your visit less horrible, that's gotta be worth trying, right?! :)
