Gunnerson Dental: K. Cheyn Gunnerson, DMD

I normally don’t write reviews but I feel compelled to after my experience with Gunnerson Dental. I do NOT recommend Gunnerson Dental. During my checkup I noticed they were taking way more photos then other dentists do. I asked if my insurance was going to cover these extra photos and the front lady said “that’s between you and your insurance” I appreciate a dentist office that checks with my insurance before performing anything extra and then asking my permission before they proceed. (Every dentist office I have been to has always asked permission if they want to do something I’m going to have to pay out of pocket for)

I took the treatment plan they gave me to a different doctor just to get a second opinion and was completely shocked when it came to his prices. My 6,000 dollar dental treatment plan turned into way less than half of that. If you do go to Gunnerson Dental, I would get a second opinion before moving forward with anything. This is NOT a trustworthy practice.

First of all, I love the fact that Gunnerson Dental DOESN'T smell like a typical dentist office. The staff is so kind and welcoming. They have a comfort menu for you to customize your comfort level while having your teeth worked on. Amazing! Outstanding! Go to Gunnerson Dental.

I am a predental student and had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Gunnerson and his staff at Gunnerson Dental over the last few months. I've shadowed several dentists in Utah county and Gunnerson Dental was by far the best office I have been in. Dr. Gunnerson and his staff are very professional and friendly and will help you feel comfortable, quickly! He works quickly so that your time in the chair is minimized. There are a lot of great things that I observed at Gunnerson Dental that I want to implement in my future office. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Very friendly, prompt service. They give a thoughtful gift to each new patient, making you feel extra special. I especially like their "comfort menu" offerings. Just be sure to ask what's covered by your insurance before they do ANYTHING. I had a check-up and they did a cancer screening without telling me it wouldn't be covered. Now I'm stuck paying a whole lot more than I'd planned for.

I was so nervous going today because let's face it I get anxiety over seeing the dentist. But the whole office staff was so nice. Made me feel comfortable. I wish I could remember the name of the hygenist I met with today. She was so helpful. When she examined my gums it didn't hurt. Again I can't stress it enough how nice it was. Dr. Gunnerson is a wizard.

My daughter has always been afraid to go to the dentist. Dr Gunnerson was able to walk her through the process and really put her at ease. After we left, she told me that she was glad we found a dentist that she felt comfortable with. THANKS!

Due to a cease and desist letter I received from a lawyer representing Dr Gunnerson after leaving a 1 star review, I chose to remove my previous review and will rewrite it with a little less hostility. I still give this dentist a 1 star due to problems that we have had with billing services and with Dr Gunnerson while trying to resolve our billing issues. We were originally "quoted" an estimate for services, and paid the full amount before services were provided. A couple months later, we received a bill for 3x what we had been quoted. When we questioned this, we were told that the original estimate was based on our old insurance plan. We wanted to know how they were able to get an estimate then without contacting the insurance and they couldn't tell us anything about that. I asked to talk to Dr Gunnerson but he would not talk to me about it. I left feeling very angry and like no one was listening to my perspective. The office has received full payment for the services and will not receive any more business from us.

I went here after trying to sleep with a C-Pap unsuccessfully for many years to deal with my sleep apnea. I got my mouth guard yesterday and after 1 night of using it I feel so energized and refreshed. Before I got the mouth guard I would wake up feeling worse then I did before I went to sleep.

Doctor Gunnerson is an awesome guy with great staff. After only 1 night of sleep I would highly recommend going to see Gunnerson Dental to help with your sleep apnea.

Gunnerson Dental has the most engaging staff I have ever seen in a dental office. Everyone is so friendly. They go above and beyond, by offering things for your comfort as soon as you walk in the door. They call you by name and offer a water or juice in the waiting room. They have fresh baked cookies in the waiting room. Who does that?? In just minutes you are brought back to a room and offered chapstick, a neck pillow or a blanket. Teeth cleaning is a very pleasant experience with their high powered water pick cleaning rather than metal scraping your teeth. Heidi has an infectious personality. I love her. She is so friendly. She is truly concerned about your well being. I have seen that girl cry with compassion. She is truly an angel. Dawn really knows how to run an office and make you feel great. I can't forget Chelsie's beautiful smile waiting to greet you at the front desk. They are amazing! Oh and the doctor? He has a huge heart. I tried to do a favor for a good friend who had severe mouth pain from grinding her teeth in her sleep. I offered to pay for her care. Dr. Gunnerson just so happened to be having a "special" on that treatment that day. Amazing people. Amazing care.

Thanks to Gunnerson dental, I feel comfortable going to the dentist! They made me feel at home right as I walked through their doors. Their hygienist is very gentle and I loved meeting Dr. Johnson & Dr. Gunnerson. Definitely recommend this office.
