We wont be back - they did not disclose that having a "deep cleaning" meant that all future "regular cleanings" would not be covered the same way by insurance. I called the office to inquire and they said they could not say if was properly explained but we signed a paper on "THE DAY OF" the appointment acknowledging the charges - like what were we supposed to do? Cancel the appointment and have a $25 cancel fee, let alone the inconvenience....

This is a great dental office. The staff is friendly and the care is very good. I have a wonderful hygienist who looks out for me. I really feel like they're looking out for my best interests - not trying to milk my insurance.

As one who has very sensitive teeth these guys are great. Also, they do wonderful work under pressure. When I had a problem five days prior to my class reunion, they stepped up and I looked fabulous! I actually look forward to seeing my hygienist, Hillary.

Amazing! I had to get a wisdom tooth removed, NEVER done that before. I had a horrible experience at another dentist and was wayyy to scared to ever go again.. BUT these guys made sure that I felt 100% NO pain! And I hate dentists.... Theu did everything i asked them to do, like let me know what was going on, kept checking to see if i jad any feeling at all, and i didnt, I will forever go to this dentist, I had Dr. Chris

Assistant Megan and Dr.Steve are wonderful. They always make sure that I am comfortable during my dental treatment. Whenever I have questions, Dr. Steve always makes sure that I have the information before I leave the office.

No issues with the care, my issues are with their billing procedures.
I paid $760 in February 2019 for my portion of a $2300 crown and abutment. In May 2019, I started getting bills from New Horizons for $1147. I call and it's explained to me that Aetna, my insurance, denied my claim and I owe the remaining $1147. Fast forward through 9 calls between Aetna and New Horizons (because unlike any other dentist I've ever been to, I had to work though the insurance myself, New Horizons would not help in any way), and I finally get Aetna to pay $980 for the crown and abutment, their preferred provider payout. Now keep in mind, at this point, we should be done - I paid my patient portion ($760), Aetna paid theirs ($980), done!!! Not so fast my friend. New Horizons still says I owe $680 more. You are going to absolutely love why I still owe $680. Now, 1147-980=$167. If anything, you'd think that would be what I owe but nope....$680 and here's why; because Aetna told my Dentist that they actually "allow" for the Dentist to charge more for the abutment than the Dentist charged me. Confused? me too. So, because the Dentist estimated their charges at XX, but Aetna allowed YY, which is more than XX, the dentist sent a bill to me asking for the difference between XX and YY. It's akin to your Car Insurance provider allowing $1000 for a repair, you get an estimate for $750, pay a $500 deductible and the garage hits you up for the extra $250......AFTER the car is repaired by saying "hey, it's only and 'estimate'". Even the poor insurance lady at New Horizons (who was very nice) couldn't really explain it very well. The Doctor is nice enough and very professional but believe me when I say that your "estimated out of pocket" expense is just that, an estimate. In my case, they were way off their estimate by almost half. That's never happened to me in 40 years of going to the Dentist and dealing with insurance payouts. Cannot recommend them.
Update10/8/19 - I talked to Kathy the Office Manager today and the office agreed to take care of the remainder of my balance. I learned a few things here, mainly, to be more proactive ensuring I understand my responsibilities when it comes to reviewing costs for dental care. Based on my positive interaction with Kathy, I will return to New Horizons and give this another shot. I'll follow up with a review after my return visit.

I went to another dentistry after about 5 years without seeing a dentist. At 22 they charged me over $200 to tell me it was $15,000 and 5 root canals worth of work. I disagreed with this and came to new horizons. For free they x-rayd and consulted with care and thought. They told me about $3000 and 1 root canal. Their staff are among the best I've encountered, not limited to dentist's. High recommendation.
