I needed a dentist asap and Dr Tim squeezed me into his schedule. He listened to my concerns and helped flexed his schedule to help me. They suggested some procedures for me and told me my insurance would cover a certain amount. Long story short, I ended up with a huge bill and was sent to collections when I asked them to check with the insurance again. Decent place but be careful what they tell you will be covered by insurance.

Just fyi for anyone visiting. Dr. Tim is no longer associated with this office even through the web page doesn't list him as gone. I didn't recognize any of the staff, except for the hygienist Amee, and I have unfortunately, spent a lot of time at there. Even when I asked specifically before my appointment if I was seeing Dr. Tim I was told the dentist was in, leading me to believe he was. I spoke to the office 3 times in the past month scheduling appointments and rescheduling due to miscommunications over what I was having done at my visit. It was never mentioned to me he was gone. If I was just reviewing Amee I would give 5 stars hands down. She is the best hygienist I've ever had. However, with the turn over of the practice, the office staff being somewhat inexperienced in scheduling, taking payments, and check-in, my overall experience was oK. It just wasn't the quality of attention to detail, care, and communication I have come to rely on from this office. It was practices like these that made me leave other smile generation offices.

I've been going to Highland Dental for over a year now. In the past they've been prompt, professional, and courteous. Recently there seems to be a break down in communication and patient coordinating. Here's my take on Highland Dental:
The Good:
- Conveniently located
- Prompt service (typical wait time in the lobby is 5-10 mins before appt)
- Friendly staff
The Bad:
- Sign for service & payment w/out ever seeing what you're signing for (the receptionist have the computer screen in front of them, of which they read to you a list of services & charges. There's an electronic pad in front of the Client and you blindly sign whatever they say you're signing for; it's odd - why can't you see what you're signing for??).
- No confirmation of appointment. When I first started here, I used to receive e-mails with my appointment dates, as well as little cards. Now, they tell you at the desk, and sometimes they call you one day prior to the appt. That's it. Hope you remember!! Good luck.
- Call to make / change appointment: can wait up to 10 minutes until a Receptionist answers.
- The layout: the restroom is in the back of the office; a maze of dental rooms to walk by; very awkward when they're busy with clients.
- Has recently turned unreliable. In the past week, I've had TWO appointments cancelled AFTER I arrived at the office.
Overall, the office is convenient and the staff can be pleasant, but the communication is broken: you don't know what you're signing for, you're not sent reminders for appts that can be up to six months apart, and the Dentist may not be there for your appointment either.

There must have been some changes in the last year! The front staff was very caring and proficient, the benefits coordinator worked with me to make the best use of my insurance lowering my out-of-pocket expense with ensured quality of care. Dr Art explained procedures and options clearly and we came up with a plan that fit my needs. The dental assistant did a great job too and was professional with a great sense of humor!

Beware!!! I was told I needed upgraded dentures and paid 1800 in advance (they require) in addition to my insurance. After 6 months and two re-dos I was informed on 12/10/12 they could not give me dentures to fit and that I would get a full refund as well as my insurance would be refunded. I have contacted their office manager several times since inquiring where my refund is. I paid in good faith and expected good faith when they could not deliver. I kept getting it is a procerss and I would be hearing soon. As of this date 1/24/2013 neither my insurance company or myself have seen a dime from these people. Either they are totally incompetent or totallly unethical. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and now the Dental Board. Hopefully someone will protect me as a consumer who never got the product promised yet cannot get a refund as also promised. Beware!!!!!

Dr. Polumbo and his staff took excellent care of my husband and did not try to up sell us on things we could not afford. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a caring, compassionate Dentist and staff!
