Hawaii Family Dental - Ewa Beach

It is just unacceptable the way this office does business. The day of your Appt and you are slapped with an upfront cost of $100 for something you had no idea wasn’t covered under your insurance policy. It would be nice to get a heads up prior to your Appt of the expected charges (my Appt had been booked a month prior with insurance information provided beforehand) Not only did I storm out of the office but wasted my time beating traffic to only be told of the upfront cost the day of with no heads up or explanation of charges. Please proceed with caution before your head to this place. They are out for their bottom line and not for the patient. Side note: Not a kid friendly facility either.

My family and I have been coming here for years. Even through this pandemic, they have tried to make sure that nothing hasn't changed too much while keeping everyone safe.

I had a billing issue/question and after calling their billing department (located in Ala Moana) for 2 weeks, leaving several messages, and never getting a response, I decided to call our local branch. I spoke with HANZ who was SO HELPFUL. She took the time to dig into my account and get me the answers I needed. She was so helpful and courteous. This kind of level of customer service is rare now days. Everyone has the attitude of "it's not my job" but she took the time to take care of me. This is why we continue to come here and always refer our friends here.

Great location and hours. My first appointment there was a lot of paperwork and trying to get my insurance straight. After that, lots of xrays and a cleaning. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. They were always checking to see if I was comfortable. My dentist, Dr. Eng, is a nice older gentleman. He gave a lot of useful information and took the time to answer any questions. They also have great music playing in the background. All the greatest hits of the 90s as it seemed.

I went back to get my fillings done on a Saturday (yay for Saturday appointments). My fillings were fast and painless. They kept checking and re-checking to make sure that they shaved down everything so I didn't feel like I had something extra in there. Even after they polished everything down and cleaned me up, I told them it felt a little weird and they checked again and found my filling needed to be shaved down a bit. They didn't seem rushed even though they had another patient. They didn't seem irritated either. They just took their time and gave me the best care.

I'm glad that I changed dentists! I really like the location and the hours. The staff is friendly and they have good music!

I hadn't been to the dentist in over four years, so you can imagine how nervous I was. The front office staff were amazing and super friendly, and I was quickly taken back when my paperwork was completed! X-rays were fast and easy; the tech was super sweet. Then I saw Dr. Cross who was awesome! He literally went through each tooth in my mouth using the X-rays and the tv screens at each chair, thoroughly explaining everything that he was seeing and looking for. I highly recommend this office for anyone looking in Ewa!

I loved this place! It was my little ones first dental visit and I was a little nervous since this wasn't specifically a pedo office. However, when we arrived I was very impressed. The office was decorated for kids and was playing Disney music. The staff was all very kind and attentive making her feel comfortable. Dr.Woody was gentle and warm, she wasn't the least bit scared or uncooperative. I was most appreciative that the front staff informed me of my copay BEFORE she was seen and explained my benefits/treatment. Great place, that is close to home and makes me feel confident about my kid's dental care.

I had a great experience there. Called to schedule a new patient appointment, was seen the next day. I need some work done on my teeth and they are so accommodating with my schedule and family situation. The staff is very friendly and professional, I'm seeing Dr. Schuller whom I really love, he's also fluent in multiple languages which made me feel even more comfortable there (I'm not American)
I can only recommend them and will be taking my preschooler soon too.

Best dental office I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived in a few states. The ENTIRE staff takes care of patients from start to finish. They respect your time, which is huge for me. Anytime I’ve made an appointment, they’ve actually called to offer me to come early. They are very efficient but still thorough when working with you. I’ve referred several people and they all report back how happy they are with the service at multiple locations. My favorite is definitely Ewa Beach though. Thank you Hawaii Family Dental!

I agree with others. The quote I receive is ridiculously high for some reason. Also, my kids was super scared/terrified after the dental visit. The tooth cleaning session hurt their teeth so much and the doctor kept explaining because they were little ones so he had to do it fast.
Not the case!!! We previously went to other dental place and the hygienist really took their time and make sure the kids are comfortable and being taken care of.

The facility itself is so cramped. We could hear other kids/patient screaming while we were there.

This "dental" office is an absolute scam. I had 0 problems with my teeth before I came here. They told me "all of your silver fillings need to be replaced because they leak mercury". They went to replace one, drilled too deep, caused a lot of pain and told me I needed to pay them for root canal, when it was their mistake. I refused and went to 2 other dental offices around the island. Both of those offices told me that they would have never replaced my silver fillings unless they were bothering me. But because the damage was already done I did indeed need a root camal. This place is a complete scam. They also try telling every person that goes here that they need a mouth guard for when they sleep. This is another scam to get more money.

Such a pleasant office and staff at this location. Dr. Ching is very thorough with his work and answered all questions I had. The office staff is so welcoming. I’m glad I found this location.

Too expensive, over charge, price for service keeps changing, you will not understand amount of bill due until day you have to make a payment. i have never had frontal teeth removed when i was told that had to be done i went into shock, i stopped the extraction / bone graph procedure and told this dental office i wanted a temporary denture made so i can us this to cover the hole/space. the doctor assigned to my case did not take care with time and education to explain to me what the temp device looks like, how to remove and put it on for if i had known and understood this i would have never paid almost $400.00 of my money for nothing the device is extremely unconfutable, I find myself having to swallow every 5 minutes just to catch my breath cannot talk with this device in my mouth, and I have to use to mush force to put the thing on and especially to remove it I only tried to use this worthless thing for 30 minutes, took it off will never put it on again and I want my money back for its absolutely worthless. I would NOT RECOMMED THIS DENTAL SERVICE TO ANYONE, EVER.
