In the past, I have been very pleased with CHD, but things have changed since I was last there. My appointment was at 9:30, but I wasn't called from the waiting room until 10:30. I then spent almost 2 hours in the back for X-rays and consultation only. I didn't leave the facility until after 12:00. No procedure was even done on this visit. This has not been the "norm" for them in the past. There are also a lot of new faces there. It seems like a complete turnover. It seems a little chaotic behind the desk.
However, the one great thing about the practice is that Dr. Dominik is very special and he is still there. He is compassionate, and very gentle in his approach and technique. I appreciate him so much. If he was not there, I might consider going back to my old practice.

It took a long time to get an appointment, which is understandable because, COVID. After I confirmed my appointment, I continued getting a barrage of text messages asking me to confirm even though I had already called back several times to confirm. The receptionist was always friendly and accommodating. I came early, filled out all the paperwork, and it’s now 55 minutes past my appointment time, and I’m still waiting. I have other doctors appointments to get to today, and what is the point of an appointment and coming early if you just have to wait forever? Seems like they’re overbooked. If I would have known that ahead of time, I could have made other arrangements for my other appointment or rescheduled. I do not recommend. There are currently people who came after me getting seen before me, even though I was not a walk in and had this appointment scheduled for over a month. Do not come here if you expect great service. I was told this would take a half hour to 45 minutes, and I haven’t even been seen yet. You would think in the time of COVID they wouldn’t make so many appointments in one day, but here they are just as busy as ever.
Update: As I posted this I was taken in the back to be seen. The hygienist and dentist are super nice, however I’ve now been waiting in the back in a dental chair for a half hour now with no work done. Once I finally received my cleaning, it was the most painful experience, she caught my lip twice, and I now have a puncture wound on the inside of it. I’m glad they checked me out to assess the work I need done, fillings, and a tooth pulled, but I will be going elsewhere to get a second opinion and for better treatment.

I just waited 5 months for an appointment only for it to be canceled a week before due to not having a hygienist. Scheduling seems to be a recurring problem judging from other reviews as well. I was refused the option to reschedule or even be notified when the issue was resolved.
Appreciate the rude reply from the owner. Very classy.

My appointment in march was cancelled because of covid (understandable). Once their offices were open again I called to reschedule. They were booked until September and didn't give priority to anyone whose appointments had been cancelled. I wait 3 months for September (now) and had my appointment. After an hour of waiting I was called back and had my exam and x-rays done. After 30 more minutes of waiting for a cleaning I ended up leaving because I had a class I had to attend for school. I was rescheduled for the next week first thing in the morning. I go in expecting it to be 15 minutes because ALL I needed was a cleaning. For some reason they don't have hygienists scheduled on the day they scheduled my appointment for a cleaning????? So the doctor was going to do it except he didn't know how to work one of the tools. So while a worker comes to fix it (a 30 second fix) he goes and starts helping a different patient. 20 minutes later he comes back to me and at this point I have to leave so I'm not late for work. Now I am rescheduled yet again and have to wait 1.5 months. I guess if you have an appointment clear your whole days schedule because that's what they expect when you go there.

Cleveland Heights Dental is one of the MOST unorganized and dysfunctional dental centers I’ve been to. They hardly ever make the correct appointment. I call and state my reason for making an appointment that I was in pain left upper side and needed fillings. They took x-rays and when dr dominic comes in he does a comprehensive exam and tells me to schedule an appointment for fillings. I told him that’s what I scheduled, an appointment for fillings bc I was in pain. He said staff didn’t schedule accordingly that he needed an hour to do fillings and when explained it was an error on their end he said he couldn’t do anything about but I could talk to the office manager. I said ok I’ll do that, then he says she won’t be in until Thursday and today is Tuesday. He did NOTHING to try to accommodate me or rectify their error in ANY way!!

Was seen quick in timely manner, but my concerns was no addressed Express my pain and recieved a OTC medication ineffective for my pain, to then be scheduled in 2 months ro be seen for dental procedure when it differently a urgent matter my pain is severe and I dont think I can wait the length of time. Also I was a lil offended when the lady doing the x-ray says " I dont know why yall do yall faces when yall know yall coming to a dentist appointment and its going to get messed up" very rude , but that was my 1st time at this dentist office . I'm trying to schedule a earlier appointment to get this tooth problem tooking care of .

Excellent service. Fast, and efficient. The hygienist explained each step, and made sure I was comfortable. Highly recommend.

Dr. Shapiro is great. The dental hygentist I had was awful. I will be asking that I have a different hygentist next time. I kept saying she was getting water all down the back of my shirt. I had to ask for paper towels. Dr. Shapiro apologized while she said nothing. He even took another look at my bill because the numbers were in fact incorrect which he had fixed. And sadly to agree with some of the other comments the receptionist do way too much talking and not enough serving clients. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time but there were others waiting 45 minutes and then received snide remarks when they questioned why they were still waiting. That’s bad service. Great dentist but the staff upfront needs coaching on professionalism. Personal conversations aren’t for at work when you have clients waiting. It’s common sense.
