Sleep Dentistry of Portland

This office is top notch from the moment you walk through the door until leaving the office, everyone I dealt with was exceptional! Everyone from my emergency care Dentist to getting my teeth cleaned by the gentlest Dental technician I have ever had! When I first called I was in so much pain I wanted to go to the emergency room in my home town! I phoned at the very end of the work, and was given an appointment for the next day!

The Dentist I saw was very professional with a compassion for me and my phobia I have about the dentist! The assistants had the same level of professionalism and compassion! Not since my pediatrician Dentist have I found ANY Dentist office that has given these two qualities in one office! I have had my share of sad experiences including just last year when I had to have a tooth pulled and literally I was going to quit going to a dentists all together!

Now since my initial visit I have had my teeth cleaned by the most gentle Dental Tech I have ever had! (I would go back to her even if I wasn't pleased with the rest of the office she had a big job because I haven't had my teeth cleaned in 6 years !) My Husband is going to get his teeth cleaned next week! This is such a great office I drive 73 miles to come here! I have had a temporary crown on for a few weeks, (my choice scheduling problem for me, not the office) and it has been an amazing temp!

The office manager is phenomenal and takes care of your every need from first appointment visit to billing! I just wished that I would have read a review about this office long ago because my teeth would be in much better shape now! That is o.k. because I am getting there now! I purposely left the names of all these amazing caregivers out of this review because I am sure that all the employees who work at Gentle Dentistry are equally good! Besides all of you know who you are that have been mentioned in this review because I am sure that you don't run into someone as needy as I am everyday!

Had my teeth evaluated by a dentist there, and came in for appointment with saved money for the procedure. Was told I needed further work the previous dentist did not mention! Double what I had budgeted for. Feel betrayed and taken advantage of.

I have feared the dentist for the better part of 10 years - with the exception of an emergency root canal about 4 years ago, I have avoided the dentist. I needed E X T E N S I V E work done, cavities, root canal, crowns, a DEEP cleaning from all the years of not going. I tried going to the dentist a year ago and cried through the entire 15 minute exam and never went back or scheduled an appointment to have the work done that they suggested. I can't explain my anxiety, nor am I proud or excited to admit I have such severe anxiety regarding the dentist. I hate that I can't just sit there and control the flood of overwhelming emotions - But I can't. I found Sleep Dentistry of Portland on Google during a desperate search to find someone to help clean up my mouth but could just put me to sleep so I didn't have to deal with the panic and fear associated with leaning back into that chair. When I met with Angelica - She was the best possible person to work with me. She was kind and understanding from the second I met her. I couldn't even tell her how anxious I was before she read my body language and began explaining the exact feelings that were running through my mind - she knew how I was feeling. Instead of rushing me or belittling me - She comforted me and reassured me that this is what they do - what Sleep Dentistry is all about. I was shaking just being there and my heart was racing - but as time went by, she put my heart and mind at ease (as much as possible anyway). Then she introduced me to Dr. Haymore - Hands down - T H E - V E R Y - B E S T - Dr. around. He was just as kind and patient. He explained to me step by step what was going to happen (because somehow he knew I was a control freak). When I came in for my visit - He was calm and kind, just as before and was confident which made me confident in him. He played amazing music and he was my very first "good experience" at the dentist. I chose to be sedated but awake. He was so good throughout my 5 hour appointment and I didn't panic, I didn't cry, I was okay. I made it through. I left in NO PAIN, (a little groggy - Thank God) but all in all - IN GREAT SHAPE. I honestly CANNOT say enough about this company and it's staff. Blessed beyond measure is an understatement. I am so thankful I found them and so thankful - SO THANKFUL - for their endless kindness and patience.

Super happy I have found this dentist. I have gone to quite a few dentists and always had a hard time due to severe anxiety. After speaking with the Doctor and understanding they could help me with a simple oral sedation I felt a lot better. I only needed a couple of fillings but just the thought makes me crazy LOL. The staff was awesome, and I felt super comfortable. Thanks again to the staff and Dr. Haymore. I definitely recommend for anyone with anxiety or fear like me. Yea, I' a big chicken when it comes to the dentist. :-)

These people are wonderful! I have avoided dental care for a long time because it gives me horrible anxiety but they made me very comfortable and no judgement or lecture for me neglecting my teeth. Another thing I really liked was that they send a reminder text 3 days before the appointment and another 2 hours before (just in case you forgot). They also helped me prioritize based on my budget.

I'm posting on behalf of my mother who has been here a couple times and has awful experiences each time.
One time she had to get a couple teeth removed and they broke her jaw in 2 places during the extractions!! They had to do a bone graft to try and fix their awful error!!
Another, (why she went back, I don't quite know) She was trying to get dentures (partials?) and from the very first, they hurt and didn't fit right, they tried to convince her that it was normal or somehow because of her, and refused to fix them several times for her.
She would never suggest anyone go there and I'm enraged on her behalf.
They need to get more careful and considerate ""professionals"".

I have a slight fear of dentists and needed a wisdom tooth removed. I had tried another dental office with an oral sedation, but, i was able to feel everything even with half of my face numb. I finally found Sleep Dentistry and they did a great job! I don't remember a thing and I am no longer in pain. Highly recommend this place! Staff were very friendly, calming, patient and LISTENED! I am hoping they can do the same for my daughter, so she can get the smile she finally deserves! I won't go anywhere else now.

Sleep Dentistry is a great experience every time. I will some it up Happy Employees Happy Patients!! When I hear laughter in the hallway, I know I'm in good hands. All the staff is amazing. Love my hygienist. ❤👏

Amazingly wonderful place. Had to do sedation dentistry due to a special needs kiddo. We had outgrown our pediatric dentist for such things and I was super stressed about a 'new' place. These people are so easy-going, quick, professional and friendly. The office is busy and I can see why. They explain everything very thoroughly, I saw them take extra time with non-English speakers and some elderly folks that appeared to have a hard time hearing. They have a large staff, so there is no waiting around. They have (good) coffee and current magazines. I was there for a couple hours during the procedure and saw quite a bit. Super impressed. What was a pretty complicated bunch of procedures was waved away with a 'This isn't our first rodeo' and I didn't have to worry about a thing- they handled everything and fast. Dr. Combe did our procedures and was just lovely. Couldn't recommend more highly.

If it's actually possible to love going to the dentist, then, yes, I did. The hygienist was fantastic. She was fast and efficient and very gentle. We had a good laugh listening to the hygienist in the suite opposite us who was working with a little kid. It was adorable and I couldn't believe how patient she was getting him to sit still for x-rays.
