Messed a tooth up on vacation and needed help and counseling. Worked me in. Great staff and very friendly. X-rays belayed my fears.

Dr. Sciarrino and all the staff at Oak Family Dentistry are awesome! From the front office to the hygentist to the assistants, all are a class act! I've walked in on numerous occasions without an appointment and they've always welcomed me. I would recommend Dr. Sciarrino and his staff to anyone new to the area or looking to change from their dentist, Best dentist in the Charleston area, hands down!

Being new to the John's Island area, I viewed the task of searching for a new dentist with much trepidation. But, thankfully, upon the recommendation of another dental professional I was able to find Dr. Sciarrino of Oak Family Dentistry. He is the best! If you are the type of person who wants to know exactly what is going on with your teeth and exactly what the dentist is able to do to correct the problem, then you will be totally pleased with Dr. Sciarrino. He is personable,
knowledgeable, and thorough.
In addition, his staff is totally committed to their patients and both Tyler and Anna go above and beyond to cover each patient's needs and concerns. Dr. Sciarrino is blessed to have such dedicated employees. I am not hesitant in saying that I am totally thrilled to have found this great group of professionals!

*edit* a routine cavity filling ended up hurting much more than any other I had. I went in to get it corrected and it still wasn't up to snuff. Finally stopped being sore after a few months...

The dentist seemed more interested in talking about the office's weekend trip and gossiping about the office than the job at hand. Even the hygienist didn't seem to want to partake.

I don't mind young dentists, but he had a hint of arrogance to him that didn't sit right with me.

Rest of the staff was great.

Dr. Sciarrino and Debbie were wonderful throughout my dental procedures! I'm not a fan of dental work, but they made it fun, we laughed a lot, and would return in a heartbeat! I have and will continue to recommend Oak Family Dentistry to others! Thank you!

I had the same dentist for 15 years in Kansas, and trust me, she was a tough act to follow. I moved my family to Johns Island in June 2016 and after settling in, began looking for a new dentist office. I've never been one to have major apprehension about dental visits, but much of that is because mine was so amazing. I started looking with word of mouth, google maps and online reviews. The clincher that got me into the Oak Family office was a very positive review by another dentist who goes to them as a patient, and proximity to my home. My first visit was for a routine cleaning, checkup and initiation of new patient care. They were running a bit behind schedule and I had to fight back feelings of annoyance about that. I'm a pediatric nurse manager of a huge office and I know when we get behind it's because we give excellent personalized care, so I convinced myself that was the case. I was right. Tyler, the dentist's wife, was the first one I met and she did my cleaning. She's friendly and professional and wasn't afraid to scold me a little about my (lack of) flossing habits. When I explained my lifelong difficulty with flossing and having giant hands, she gave me a toothbrush-length flossing tool with replacement heads. It's great! I use it daily now. She also gave me a coupon for a sonicare toothbrush and challenged me to start using it. They are game-changers! If you don't have one, you have to get one! Tyler has changed my life already.
After Tyler was done, doc came in and did my exam. He's talkative and funny and very high energy, and it's neat to see the dynamic of a young married couple running a business together. Doc told me that I had a repair needed on one of my molars, so we made that appointment for a few weeks later.
On the day of my repair, the office was running on schedule which pleased me. Tyler and I chatted for awhile before another dental assistant brought me back to the procedure room. She was also very polite and professional and she brings her kiddo to my office in West Ashley. Doc came in and did the lidocaine and was very clear and thorough with details about what he was going to do and what he needed from me during the procedure. I never had any discomfort and the repair was made with masterful precision and skill. My bite is perfect and my tongue cannot tell the difference from before the procedure.
This is my new dentist office, and I'm extremely happy about that!

Dr. Sciarrino and his staff have created the "pleasant dental experience." The staff is always friendly and helpful and Dr. Sciarrino is excellent at providing painless treatment with a gentle touch. I recommend Oak Family Dentistry to all my family and friends.

I recently brought my 4yo with me to my check up in hopes that she'd be okay with having her teeth cleaned. Our hygienist, Alyssa, was so kind and patient as my daughter wanted to know about and see everything that was being done to my teeth. When it was my little girl's turn in the chair, Alyssa continued to answer my daughter's questions in a manner that she'd understand. When Doctor Sciarrino came in to check on us, he continued to keep my child engaged, even showing her the "pictures" of my teeth. My daughter's only disappointment was that I didn't get a wand and stickers in my goodie bag of dental supplies. Such a wonderful first visit to the dentist for my little girl!

My wife and I moved to the area a year ago and went here. The hygienist and doctor were fine for the cleaning but afterward we felt like they were trying to sell us every product under the sun. Throw in the fact that after signing a release form for records, they sent the wrong paperwork and did not return voicemails. We're still waiting on this information. We will not be returning after this experience and admittedly, our experience may be an isolated incident, it was miserable enough to turn us away.
