Beware of the 5 star reviews. I was tricked by these reviews. Oh yes they are very nice and welcoming but when your in the seat they try to push unnecessary treatments and they didn’t let us know the dentist on staff wasn’t in network with my insurance even though their other dentists were. My husband and I needed to find a new dentist since we both had new insurance. We saw online that they took our insurance and looked on our insurance website to make sure the dentists that worked there were also in network, they had at least 7 dentists in network. So we thought everything was ok. We made appointments and they took our insurance info down three weeks before our appointment. After I had my cleaning appointment I was notified that the dentist that did my check up was out of network. I was stuck with a $800 bill. After calling my insurance to find out what happened they told me that the dentist that I had wasn’t going to be in network until the next month after I had my cleaning. We called De Zavala modern dentistry back and they said “ this sometimes happens” and that they would try to contest it with our insurance but if it was denied we would have to pay the bill. I work in a doctors office and it is ethical and good business practice to reschedule our patients when we see the doctor they have an appointment with is not going to be covered by their insurance. They knew the dentist we were scheduled with was not going to be in network and didn’t think to reschedule us with a dentist that was. I’ve seen dentists for over 20 years and I have NEVER had this problem for a simple cleaning. Not to mention they tried to push on me that I needed two crowns on my front teeth for craze lines. It’s a good thing I said I’d go home and think about it because come to find out craze lines are normal and a cosmetic issue that is not a big deal. If I had agreed and had the crowns done with the same dentist they would not have told us about being out of network and would have a $4,000 bill right now. They also pushed on me and my husband mouth guards which we agreed to have and paid out of our HSA’s as I saw that was the least invasive thing I could do for the craze lines. Beware of the unethical practice that this business employs. They try to up sale patients on things that are unnecessary and will trick you into thinking they take your insurance when they don’t. To say the least we will be taking our business elsewhere and will be wary of dentist practices in the future.

Super cool staff. Really down to earth. They have some really cool tech too; created my crown same day in office too. They made me feel like I was getting the best service and explained everything in detail for me. Glad I found them as my new dental home.

I don't write many reviews but this is top notch dental care. It will be hard to find a more caring, thorough dental office in San Antonio. They go above and beyond! Just left from this place. Wow, what a rip off that's all I can say. I just wanted a deep cleaning or cleaning and I was quoted absurd prices. The staff was very nice but they have to be with the unnecessary procedures and prices they quote you. I'm definitely going somewhere else. I walked out of there with nothing.

If you’re looking for a new dental office, look no further! All the staff was welcoming and kind. The Dr. and staff made sure all our questions were answered. It was a stress free process from the very start of booking the appointment. We can’t wait to go back!
