Rios Dentistry of Ashburn

Dr. Rios always provides a predictable and positive experience. I have had a few procedures over time, cleanings, fillings, crown and I have been happy with every visit. If you need a dentist you can trust and continue to use - look no further - Dr. Rios is great!

Incredibly friendly staff. Stacy was so nice and friendly during the cleaning. They were gentle on my teeth and did their best to make sure I was comfortable and informed during the whole procedure. Unlike other dentists, it feels like they see me as a patient and not a cash source.

I happened upon this charming little dental oasis after an afternoon lunch that left me with the sneaking suspicion that I’d broken a tooth. Frantically searching the surrounding area for a decent dentist is not something the average person does, but I was fortunate to find a 4.9 star review and think to myself “okay. Let’s give it a try.”

And thus began one of the most pleasant dentist experiences of my life so far.

I walked in, without an appointment, a total stranger, and even unaware if they even accepted my insurance. Did I mention I only had an hour to spare before I had to be at work? The lovely receptionists quickly gave me forms and assurances that they would do their best to fit me in. Before I even got to a chair, the dentist had introduced himself cheerily.

I think the moment I realized that I’d stumbled upon a magical fantasy land was when they asked “how do you feel about the dentist?” and “what kind of music do you like so we can play what makes you feel better?” Cue my automatic mood improvement.

Turns out, upon initial examination, I did not have a tooth falling out.
And the dentist went above and beyond to help me out with some minor cleaning.

It was so pleasant, and I was so relieved that I wouldn’t need dentures, I decided to make another appointment on the spot.

I am very much looking forward to my next visit.

It's a pleasant experience from the time I walk in til I leave the office. The billing staff, doctors and hygienist welcome any questions or concerns I may have. Then the leader of this site is a real life rock star, "Jon Bon Rio" 🎸, what else could I want 😜!!

I feel very comfortable with Dr. Rios and everyone in his office. They are very friendly , kind and true professionals! ...and I can pick my own music every time I go. By far, they are the best dental office in the area!

Dr. Rios and his team are amazing! I adore them! There is not one thing I can think of to improve upon. During this Covid pandemic, the cleanliness of the office was impeccable and staff was fully equipped with the necessary PPE (personal protective equipment). I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, warm, and skilled dentist. Haley is also an amazing hygienist!

Everyone went above and beyond the moment I walked in to make me feel at ease for my first visit in years. This was the best experience and I'm actually looking forward to future visits! I was a patient with the practice before it was handed over to Dr. Rios, for 23 years. I switched dental insurance in 2017 and called to verify that Dr. Rios was still in-network. The front desk staff confirmed that he was, and I had two visits with him that year. In 2018, I got an enormous bill, saying that Dr. Rios was not in-network my insurance. I work in health care and I understand it's the patient's responsibility to know what insurance allows, I get that, but after what I still consider to be a misunderstanding, Dr. Rios and his team were unwilling to help me with the cost, which I honestly could not afford. I was discouraged and felt unappreciated as a patient.

Then I receive an email this past July asking if I would like to schedule a cleaning since it has been so long. I emailed and again brought up what happened last time - the email was not responded to. I emailed AGAIN a week later, after getting no response and said, "Your lack of acknowledgment of my email affirms that you do not value your patients and my decision that I will not be returning to your practice."

This is the response I got IMMEDIATELY:

"Lauren,

We would like to start by acknowledging that we had not replied to your previous message. It seemed to us that your message was definitive and was not in need of reply."

(when is it ever appropriate to ignore an upset customer?)

They then offered to work with me for FUTURE services by offering a discount - that was NEVER offered in the past year of arguing about the initial issue. If you valued your patients, especially one that has been with the practice for 23 years, wouldn't you have at least ACKNOWLEDGED the initial email? The response I got after emailing TWICE, in my opinion, was incredibly condescending and rude.

To make matters even worse, I switched dentists, and my new dentist detected a serious problem in my X-rays immediately and referred me to an endodontist. I used to complain about tooth pain to Dr. Rios and his team and they repeatedly told me everything looks good. Now I find out that one of my teeth has been decaying from the inside out over the past several YEARS, and I most likely will be loosing my tooth permanently. It seems to me that this should have been detected by Dr. Rios and his team and never was.

Dr Rios is a caring and gentle dentist. He has been my dentist for over 5 years. I moved out of the area about 1 hour away and he is still my dentist of choice. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Haley and Rosa are two of my favorites! Thank you for doing what you do and see you again in 6 months.

Rios Dentistry is the best dentist office I've ever been to. They are personable and make sure their patients are always comfortable. Haley is my usual hygienist, and she is amazing! She's very knowledgeable, capable, and friendly.
