Excel Family Dentistry

If you have genetically perfect teeth, and if you were raised in a household where you developed dental hygiene practices so meticulous that they outshine the work of your hygienist at your six-month cleaning, then Excel Dental is a great place to go every six months for x-rays and a touchup cleaning. Most of the staff members are, as noted elsewhere, friendly and courteous, so you'll have a pleasant enough time while having your x-rays taken and your cleaning done. The exception to this rule is the hygienist who seems to think that she'll be successful in selling costly products and services if she tells you that your smile is unattractive and that your uninsured working-class parents were irresponsible for not having gotten you braces.

Regrettably, even the friendly staff members are incompetent to deal with actual dental problems. If you have less-than-perfect teeth and/or you do the best that you can with your dental hygiene, but still end up with tooth decay or gum recession, go to ANY other dentist's office. If you have a cavity filled at Excel Dental, you're likely to notice that the filling doesn't "fit" quite right, or that it chips or cracks easily. And for the love of God, don't let anyone in this office perform a root canal on you. Not unless you enjoy letting someone drill intermittently into the soft tissue of your tooth for a full hour before finally having the grace to just stop, to admit that he can't see what he's doing, and to refer you to another dentist in a different practice. I've had my share of dental work done, so I've got a reasonably large amount of experience to draw upon in judging the quality of a dentist's work. I can confidently say that the dentists at Excel Dental, Ann Arbor, MI are far and away the worst dentists I have ever visited.

Had a toothache from a neglected wisdom tooth that grew in sideways leading to a big cavity. I called morning on a Friday, they got me in for first appt 9AM and by 10:30 the trouble teeth were out. Staff was professional and transparent about the quote and Dr. Desai did a good job with the extraction

Excellent patient care and friendly staff. I always fear the dentist, but this dentistry place provides comfort and ease while still maintaining excellent service and professional practices.

Very responsive, always fit us in quickly for urgent needs and do the work on that visit. Affordable, transparent and accurate with accounting, pleasant customer service ALWAYS. I recommend them to all my family and friends.

Just an absoutley terrible experience. Made an appointment 2 days ago to get a tooth extracted. Was told my insurance everything and to show up ready to go. Well just showed up ready to get this painful tooth extracted to find out after an hour after I had been sitting in the chair getting xrays that my insurance doesn't cover anything and the entire process would be out of pocket. So clearly the office crew up front doesn't care enough to take proper information over the phone. I had my husband take off work so he could drive me to and from my appointment. What a waste all around.

Great place! They genuinely care about your oral care and always give lots of good tips. If you want to get started on a lifestyle of taking serious care of your teeth this is the place to be.

Came in for 2 lower wisdom teeth extractions on September 4th but ended up only getting one out because it took so long to get the first one out. The dentist broke it into multiple pieces and ended up popping the crown off of the molar in front of it and had to cement it back on. 4 days later, the crown that was mistakenly taken off was aching even with Motrin, I called and their after-hours mailbox was full and no option for emergency service. I wont be going back for the other tooth extraction and dont recommend people risk doing so either.

The hygienist set me at ease throughout the proceedings. She and the dentist treated me with respect and awareness, both asking questions and answering my questions very well.

Where do I start? I have spent over $25,000 on my teeth with various root canals, crowns, etc to only have them fail. So to say that I am not a fan of the dentist is an understatement. Mainly because I have had dentists my whole life chastise me for the condition of my teeth. I went to Excel Dental and I can't tell you enough how caring the whole staff was from the front desk to Dr. Paresh. They were all so understanding and for the first time in my life I didn't feel as though the staff was judging me for the condition of my teeth. Dr. Paresh listened and came up with a plan that was more than affordable and truly cared about me. I won't go anywhere else!

They gave me a free exam and x-rays and caught something major another dentist missed days earlier. Clean office friendly staff and amazing dentists. This will be my office from now on and that says a lot seeing it's a 45 min drive for me
