Excellent care and compassion for patients! I would highly recommend this dentist for anyone looking in the Rochester area. Dr. Phil worked with me a lot to make sure I was happy with my night guard. They are so friendly and helpful! My mouth has never been happier!

I hate dental work. Horrible experiences as a child with a borderline sadist practitioner formed a perception of pain and fear. These experiences were not assuaged in any successive visits as an adult. But a pressing cosmetic issue combined with a daughter’s impending wedding, and hundreds of pictures, forced me to look at getting into a chair in short order.
With some trepidation I picked a local office and emailed for an appointment certain all dentistry would be similar to my prior experiences. I was very wrong.
I had an incredible experience with Dr. Ryan and his assistant Melissa at Gentling Dental. As I am profoundly deaf and a lip reader, it only serves to exacerbate the anxiety of sitting in the chair as everyone has masks on; with COVID nobody wants to remove their masks and understandably so.
But, both Dr. Ryan and Melissa found ways to work around my hearing issue and used hand signals all through the appointment which helped tremendously.
As an aside, it was enjoyable watching the choreographed ‘dance’ between the two of them passing instruments, suctioning, and the like as they seemed well attuned to one another. Artistry in dentistry.
The topper is a great looking smile in just over one hour and a substantially reduced fear of dentists in general. Gentling Dental has a new client for certain.

I could not be more pleased with the outstanding dental care I receive from Gentling Dental, specifically Dr. Phil. I have had some difficult dental issues over the past 5 years and without fail, Dr. Phil has pursued until all were successfully addressed. He and his staff (as well as the reception/business staff) are totally professional, sincerely caring, and friendly. They have taken time to know me and make sure my dental issues are addressed. First rate staff and service!

All the staff in the office are exceptional! Dr. Ryan is amazing! Very nice, explains everything well, careful work, and trustworthy. He is also very considerate about making sure you are comfortable and nice and numb.
