Utica Dental of Tulsa

I was drawn to this place by their reviews and Best of Best titles. Now I know BoB is more about asking your clientele to vote for you than actually being the best. First impressions: the place was beautifully designed. I thought the staff was compassionate and friendly. If a place looks successful, it must be...right? I was told my insurance would not cover Invisalign. I paid roughly $6k out of pocket. They actually did bill my insurance and they covered $1,500. I was told it would last 1-1.5 years. It took 5 years. My teeth were not bad to begin with. I sought Invisalign to help with TMJ, not to fix crooked teeth.

When I showed up for my first real appt they wanted to shave my teeth, IPR. This was not discussed previously. I felt pressured and I clearly did not want to do this treatment plan. He prescribed me muscle relaxers to take before a future visit to ease my nerves before the treatment. If I only needed meds for the one visit, I was way overprescribed. I was told to "Have Fun" with the meds and encouraged to grab a drink afterwards. They also administered laughing gas during the visit.

When I went for my first teeth cleaning appt, I was told I had 1 cavity. I thought that was odd, as I hadn't had a cavity in a decade. Later, I received a bill for the cleaning. I have insurance and cleanings are always 100% covered. I questioned them on this, and they made up some excuse. This was when I began to research Dr. Hinkle. There are several reviews of similar stories. I included 2 links at the top of claims of Dr. Hinkle making fraudulent insurance charges.

On my next Invisalign visit, I was pressured to get fillings for my 4 cavities. I was confused. They said 1 before. Now it was 4. I went to my previous dentist and they had no cavities show up on my x-rays. I went to another dentist, and they also saw no cavities. Every time I visited Utica Dental I was pressured or chastised for not getting this work done. I have had 4 x-rays since then with still no indication of a cavity or tooth decay. They also quoted me almost $2.5k for this work which is absurd with amazing insurance.

I hope someone reads this and it makes them seek a second opinion before championing Dr. Hinkle as a savior of their dental health. He is a smarmy business man. I wish him continued success-just not at the expense of others.

I love this dentist's office! Everyone is so caring and pleasant. Every single interaction has been awesome! Dr. Hinkle is an excellent and very thorough dentist. The hygienists do a wonderful job! I highly recommend Utica Dental to everyone who needs a great dentist. I am so happy with all the work they've done on my mouth from cleanings to extractions, fillings and a root canal and crown. Fantastic work!

I love Utica Dental. I moved away from the area and hadn't been back to the dentist and years. I even looked into my insurance to visit them when living out of state. I just went back to them for the first time and couldn't be happier. They really take care of their clients and are caring and understanding. I feel so much better after visiting.

This is a great place to be tortured!! Ha, I kid. They are very gentle, offer gas, are patient and hey… I don’t even mind going to the dentist now. Well done Utica Dental!

I have been coming here for 2 years and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! The front desk ladies are always friendly and will do anything to accommodate your needs. The hygienist are so knowledgeable and always take their time to make sure my teeth are spotless.

I love Utica Dental! Everyone there is so friendly and informative! Going to the dentist used to give me anxiety, but Dr. Walker and the team at Utica Dental fixed that.

Randomly found this dentist office on google and I feel like I got super lucky. Jerilyn is a great hygienist and is someone I now look for forward to seeing. Dr Gosnell has great demeanor and did a great job replacing a filing. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Hinkle is the best. He and his team take really good care of you. They make sure you are informed about your dental health options and do really good work. They have the best and newest equipment and I always know I’m getting the best care possible. I always leave with a smile on my face.
