Huebner Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics

I never dread going to Huebner Smiles dental office. I know I will be greeted by their friendly staff and almost never have to wait. The office is spotless and comfortable. The dentists, assistants and hygienists are professional and friendly. They offer an annual “membership” that provides reduced pricing and the cost of two teeth cleaning is included and this actually pays for the cost of this plan. Open 7 days a week and evenings. What’s not to like?

If I could give this office more than 5 stars I totally would. I had the best dental experience at huebner smiles. I can be a little difficult and anxious when I step foot into a dental office but my hygienist Mathew eased my mind the entire appointment. Thank you so much Mathew for my thorough cleaning, I will definitely be returning!

Never been so comfortable at the dentist then with Mathew! He also explained everything he was going to do and doing. I left not only with cleaner teeth but with more knowledge! He is a great hygienist would recommend 10 stars!

I have never been more impressed with a dental office in my life. They truly care about their patients. I was a new patient, hadn’t even gone for my first appointment, and I had a tooth crack. They got me scheduled the same day to get it filled. They recommended a deep clean and to have a crown put on. They care about your comfort in more ways than one. They make sure and ask if you’re doing okay throughout the visit (pain wise) and accommodate if you’re feeling pain. On the flip side, they always ask if you want to watch something on Netflix while you’re there. These doctors, hygienists, and specialists know what they are doing. Dr. Bustos and Nely definitely deserve a shoutout. They are EXTREMELY informative and know how to incorporate amazing customer service to ensure satisfaction. The fact that they are down to earth and make meaningful conversation with you shows that you’re more than just another patient. And, it’s always nice to hear when the doctor says “x-rays look perfect, everything is aligned great” and they are proud of their work. They definitely set the bar extremely high and have best in class service. They are extremely professional and truly care about their patients.

I am giving 5 stars because I adore the drs and all the hygienist. But there has been an issue with the front office staff. That has caused some delay of care for my kids. Lack of proper communication and appointments mysteriously disappearing. Communication is huge in the medical field. Informing the parent of the patient of everything they are signing and not hiding or omitting certain information is completely unacceptable. I take great pride of caring for my kids. Now because of this information being relayed to me properly this is going to cost us more money. Everyone is having extra expenses. But now we have to figure out how to pay for this. I’m very angry because this was something that was avoidable and not my fault. But I’m still on the hook for it. I will still recommend this place because of the dentist, orthodontics and all the hygienist. But when dealing with the office staff make sure you are getting all the information correctly. The staff may just need to be educated more about what needs to be said to the patients and their parents.

I found this dentist on Yelp. Needed routine cleaning/check up. Their reviews were good. Made appointment and was told when I got there that the hygienist was unavailable (I‘d have to reschedule for my cleaning). X-Rays were done and before I realized what was happening, an officer manager was giving me an estimate for a pricey, extensive de-scaling periodontal plan which involved several weeks of visits + antibiotics. My insurance would minimally cover this recommended treatment plan and I’d be out of pocket close to $500 vs. $10 for a regular, preventative cleaning which I’d made my appointment to do. I felt that this heavy handed approach WITHOUT my even being given the option of seeing the hygienist for a regular cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, was almost extortionate. I’m 36 years old and have never been diagnosed with periodontal (gum) disease. I found the office manager’s approach with his hand held device by my exam chair very “pushy”. I‘ll need to find another dentist to do my preventive cleaning covered by my insurance, but unfortunately Huebner Smiles has already submitted bills to my insurance for this office visit; check up and x-rays, which I’ll have to figure out with my insurance company, how to navigate that within my annual allowance. I have since requested that the X-rays taken be sent to my email. Very disappointed. The push to steer me into a costly periodontal treatment plan without the option of being seen by the hygienist for a regular cleaning (who I was told was unavailable) I found quite distasteful. I’ll not return; I’ll not recommend.

If you are an anxious person or you’re afraid of the dentist, this place has the best staff in the world. Jackie the front desk lady made me feel so safe and calm when I came in earlier for a wisdom teeth consult. 10/10

I had a new patient appointment today. In my profession, where customer service and patient choice are vital, this office scored a ten-star++. For first impressions, their great reviews matched their service—one of the many reasons I chose this office. During the check-in to the check-out process, everyone was very warm, inviting, friendly, and accommodating, from frontline to back-office staff. The interactions were genuine, and the whole office made you feel welcomed and essential.

I was so impressed with every interaction. The attentive clinical staff was well prepared as all had read my new patient chief complaints. Everyone was on the same page about why I was there.

Maddie was amazing. She initially brought me to the back, where she immediately gave me a tour of the office and took my x-rays. Throughout the visitation process, she and everyone explained everything in detail of the following steps and waited to see if I had any questions before proceeding. Gabby, the hygienist, was as excellent. She went step-by-step, explaining the procedures, treatment plans, and expected outcomes. Dr. Walker was fabulous and came in and provided the same elite customer service. I complimented Dr. Walker immediately upon intros; I told her how much I appreciated the culture created in the office. All of her staff are happy, and you can tell they love to work there; the camaraderie displayed; is all second to none.

The culture of this facility is customer-centric. If you are looking for a professional team with stellar customer service skills with satisfaction as their top pillar, look no more.

The best in San Antonio, no question about it! I’ve always feared trips to the dentist, but I feel so comfortable and welcome here that I now look forward to my appointments. All staff is super friendly and welcoming. Gaby is my fave dental hygienist!

I’ve never had such a good experience at a dentist office before! The front desk attendant, I believe her name was yanni, was so helpful and kind and the little bar they have there was wonderful. The waiting time was short and I was in and out. I will definitely be coming back.
