Hawaii Family Dental - Kihei

My dentist retired, I was nervous to find a new one. I called Hawaii Family Dental-Kihei. They were super nice, navigated me through the insurance process, I set up and appointment, Dr. Jeffery put me at ease right away and answered all my questions. I went in for the deep cleaning, Kari explained what was going on, she is very experienced. I had no pain during or after the procedure, which can be intense. I would highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental-Kihei. I want to thank everyone in their office for making my experience with them an excellent one. Mahalo!

Kailey Harris is the Best Dental Hygienist I have ever experienced ! She is gentle and thorough. I've had others that accidentally nick a gum in the process of scraping. Kailey is precise, and has never caused me any pain. She also gives good advice about how I can better my hygiene at home. I'm sticking with her for as long as I can.

Well I’ve been with Family Dental for years now. On a previous visit I had some severe sensitivity and was able to get seen and the experience was amazing. My dental assistant/ hygienist was nice and made me over the top comfortable. My last visit a couple days ago was almost the complete opposite. My X rays were easy and I felt comfortable and I thought everything would be fine. I’m one that sort of fears the dentist office and doesn’t go unless I really need to go. My dentist came in following my visit and she was very rough and painful. I was glad when she was done examining my teeth. Then I waited for my second appointment which was a cleaning and I thought I was going to get my previous dental assistance that was not the case. I got a much younger lady with what seem absolutely no compassion for people with sensitive teeth which is my problem. She was over the top the WORSE!!! She said let me know only when it’s absolutely too unbearable. It’s been a year since I got my teeth clean bc of COVID and insurance. I brush every day I know I got some tarter but I have all my teeth and I don’t do anything that would severely impact my teeth to a horrible state. I think she wasn’t aware of the severity of my sensitive teeth. I was glad when it was over! I know she did a decent job but I have NEVER experienced such pain from the dentist like this before. I would never ever go back to her. The front desk was nice and welcoming, X-ray was as well but there after was not so much. The only advice I give to people that fear the dentist is make sure you inform them about your fears. Some dentist people just don’t care.

All of the staff at the Kihei clinic is so helpful and great! My dentist and hygenist are so gentle and caring about your comfort and the results of my dental work is so appreciated. They make it really affordable to get your dental work done with doable plan options for paying out of pocket. Im so glad I found them 🤗

I was in for a deep cleaning with Kailey Harris. I remember her from a previous appointment. She has an incredibly careful and professional touch. Except for one needle stick, I was perfectly comfortable. Good Training

And absolutely the same incredible professional yesterday. Tho I hesitate, like telling everyone where your goldmine is and it'll be hard to get an appointment with her.

My 6 year old son had a tooth extracted my Dr. Keeton, and he’s begging to go back! It was such a comfortable, safe experience for both of us, and Dr. Keeton really went above and beyond. We both had a previous traumatic dentist experiences and this has completely reset how we feel about it. He did such a swift, gentle job with the extraction, my son had no bleeding afterwards and never needed any pain relief. The rest of the staff at the Kihei location were wonderful, helpful, and made this the best possible experience for us. I’ll never take my family anywhere else for dental needs.

Doctor Tinhan the orthodontist at Hawaii family dental has a poor bedside manner. This is the third time I've seen him, he is uncommunicative, rude, and grumpy. The office ladies were kind and compassionate. Hawaii Family dental office always has an overpowering chemical smell.

My dental tech, Christine, is the best. She not only does a great job on me but she inspires me to be a better caretaker of my own teeth!

My visit was a very welcomed experience as I felt very valued, and a strong concern for maintaining the best dental health possible. The equipment is very leading edge, which definitely helps in providing the best care. The entire staff is friendly and helpful.

To be honest, I don't like the dentist. This was the FIRST-ever cleaning where I actually enjoyed my experience. Yana was engaging and was gentle on my teeth and gums. I used to only go in for cleanings once a year, but I'll definitely be back at least semi-annually! Request Yana for sure! (and if he boss reads this, give that woman a raise! lol)
