Aloha and mahalo to Keri, Dr. Higginson and the awesome staff at Lighthouse Dental. The last five years in Hawai’i made me appreciate the professionalism and caring again today. Keri has been there since before Dr. Higginson became my dentist from 2004 through mid-2016. She is the best technician and dental hygienist I have encountered in the last 70 or so years. Having just returned to the area, Lighthouse Dental is the only medical provider I want to retain; every other provider will be new to me, primarily in Meridian.

Easily a 9.9 for their skill, competence, communication and office cleanliness.

If you are from California you will love this place, their pricing will make you feel at home. If you prefer getting the same quality services elsewhere for less money, by all means don't come here. Beyond the pricing we had an issue with insurance for our daughter, we took her in and they said all was fine with insurance. Almost 2 months later we received a call that we owe $900. In that pricing were sealants that we could have received for free, but they said our daughter would be covered and the sealants would be fee, they weren't :( For the work my wife had done they were able to know within minutes what services and prices based on her insurance, but somehow didn't know about the issue with our daughter's coverage until the money was spent.

This is also the first place I have run into that when asked for a cash price it exceeded the price of using insurance. Typically insurance is billed at a higher rate based on time it takes to collect, charge offs, etc. Insurance companies have an elaborate system. Other dentists we have seen here, or talked to, typically have favorable prices for paying cash. This only matters because if they had let us know there was an insurance issue before doing the work, we would have gone to another dentist and saved ourselves a lot of money, not to mention the free sealants. On top of this my daughter said the dentist was not very good, and didn't check to verify if she was numb enough before doing a filling. She never wanted to come back anyways, so the whole insurance fiasco just sealed the deal.

To recap if you are have a lot of money you need to spend, or have insurance and don't care what a place charges, by all means come here.

Love Dr Higginson! You will never meet anyone more kind and caring. I have a very complicated dental history and not many dentists would even help me. He was understanding and helped me through some tough procedures and dental decisions. Always there in an emergency too. He has been my dentist for at least 20 years and will keep doing so until he retires.

Did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and answered any questions I had. I wish I could tell you her name! This is my second visit and I felt very well taken care of both times.

This is the best dentist that I have ever gone to in my life, The entire staff is dedicated to your experience, I highly recommend them to anyone, these guys and gals are first class.

They gave me a bridge which came partially loose after a few months. (Already frustrating, but oh well, right?) I made an appointment immediately and was told to wait for them to call me in a few weeks, and they’d see if the other half of the bridge loosened up as well. I even clarified that they wanted me to wait for them to call me and not the other way around. I waited for too long to hear back from them, and when I finally called to bug them and got an appointment, most of the tooth that my bridge is connected to had been eaten away by cavity. (This is what happens when your bridge is loose but you’re unable to clean the space between support tooth and bridge.) Plus I needed a new bridge. Even though they openly admitted that the original bridge came undone because of their adhesive technique and through no fault of my own, I was still charged $500 for a replacement. Now, a few weeks later, that same cavity-filled tooth from earlier is causing serious pain, and I need a root canal because they didn’t properly take care of the decay when they replaced my bridge. If they offered to do this service for free, I’d consider going back. They are friendly people (unless you let on that you’re not made of money and don’t want to pay full price for their own mistakes, in which case you get the stink eye from everyone) but they don’t stand by their work and I’m tired of paying ridiculous amounts of money to keep getting my teeth more messed up.

Dr. Higginson is the best! He's gentle, caring and trustworthy. His staff is great as well. I highly recommend Dr. Higginson and Lighthouse Dental.

Great Experience! Dr. Higginson and staff are top notch! I had a broken crown from years past and took the opportunity to replace 3 at the same time. I absolutely love my new smile. Every attention to detail was given and they are a work of art. Quality, down to earth people, fair prices and extremely excellent craftsmanship. The courtesy follow up phone call from Dr Higginson was a nice touch as well. They have top notch equipment and the lab was in house so everything was completed on the spot. Office staff were very helpful and proactive when coordinating with insurance. I highly recommend Lighthouse Dental.

The very best dental care I have ever received. The work between the dentist and his assistant was like a choreographed dance. Quick, professional and painless.
