Hawaii Family Dental in Kona has Aloha,Customer Service is fast. Hilo office Dr.Stevens really explains to me about my daughter braces. And all of my questions I had he answered everything. What I wanted to hear.He is awesome. 💯

Dr Keeton is AMAZING. And that's an understatement.
He was on time. And made my child feel so welcomed, gained his trust and now he loves going to the dentist. We joke around that Dr Keeton is Blippi, a favorite kid youtube personality.
The moment Dr Keeton's walked in to greet us, his voice, tone, language and mannerisms was so welcoming. He shown genuine interest in the well being of my child, took the time to show him all the dental tools and explain each step of the procedure. It was truly edu-tainment at it's best. It takes a long of skill, empathy, love and compassion for his clients to do what he does. Kudos to him. He's my favorite dentist for all my kids now!

I missed an appointment the day after Christmas and was billed $100!? This was the first appointment I ever missed and it was to check my tooth extracted site. $100 for a missed appointment is ridiculous! A month before this missed appointment I was going to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled but was contacted saying only 1 tooth would be covered. I asked that we only remove the tooth that was covered by my insurance and made an appointment for that 1 tooth. When I showed up for the appointment the person behind the check in desk tells me “so we’re just going to pull both teeth today”. I asked about the insurance coverage and she told me “yeah so the dentist is going to try and fight for them to cover it”. They never asked if I was okay with this, just told me they were going to do it. Luckily the hygienist noticed the issue with the paperwork, came out and asked what was going on. She told them they needed to inform me I would be stuck with the bill If the insurance refused to cover it and they told her that they had informed me of that WHICH THEY DID NOT! I would not advise anyone to go to this office!

I have tried a few different dentists on the Hilo side for my young daughter. I drive over to Kona because Dr. Keeton is truly the best! He is patient and very funny with kids. He takes the time to explain every step of the process to my child in language that helps her to relax and feel comfortable. She had to have some work done that could have been traumatizing, and it was not. I credit Dr. Keeton's skills and kind approach.

I have been going to Hawaii Family Dental for over 7 years. I enjoy the office staff, hygienists and dentists. Dr Strommer is very excellent and articulate in his work. He explains the caveats then dental practice and educates as he works. I feel he has a desire to be the best at his craft in dentistry. I had a filling today with Zero pain, a nice follow up email and excellent care all the way around! Thank you Dr. Strommer and Hawaii Family Dental!
