I haven't been to a dentist in years and was very nervous going in, but the dentist and hygienist were great. They did a full xray and consultation and showed me that my wisdom tooth that was in pain needed to be removed. I'm going back in a couple days for the extraction, but so far they have went above and beyond what I expected them to do. I'm very impressed and will be back for all my future dental care

Always receive a thorough cleaning. The two things that need working on is billing and wait times. When I came in 6 mos before, I inquired on a + balance on my account and requested it to be transferred to my card-it never happened and I honestly forgot to follow up. When I came in this time, the charges for services seemed higher than normal and when questioned what do I usually pay each visit the lady could not tell me. She asked for help and the other person states that they couldn’t determine to give me an amount and told me I could call my insurance. I asked them why would I have to do that when you all provided the services? Each time, every 6 mos there’s new staff-even Dentists and hygienists. Not sure what they do or don’t do to keep staff.

Excellent experience. And this was based on a root canal. The Endo was a true pro. He treated his assistants calmly and professionally. His staff were very good too.

Going to Aspen Dental was one of the best decision I have made being a young adult. Everyone at Aspen was very kind and generous to me, they made me feel like family. The best part of going there is that I wasn't scared like I normally am when it's time for a dentist appointment. And they work with you the best they can even if you don't have insurance. I suggest if you need dental work but can't pay upfront and need a payment plan go to Aspen Dental they will help you and make you feel at home at the same time.

Wait times seem excessive before and after my appointments. My first consultation with x-rays took 2 1/2 hours and my second appointment was a little over 1.5 hours. The hygienist left me for part of this time to go take care of another patient. The employees are super nice but the business and scheding seem very inefficient. After my appointment was scheduled I got calls that my apoiintment was a different day and time. Thankfully they wrote my appointment on a business card. Also had to pay upfront for my regular dentistry work. I always thought payment was due when services were rendered. Probably would only recommend as a last resort. On a positive note, the office is nice and clean, they do have Direct TV to watch during the long waits and the staff are all kind, polite, respectful and friendly.

I had to get a loan to pay for the work done. I got a temporary upper plate said the "real" ones would be ready in 6 months. They weren't. they were finally ready 2 days before Thanksgiving and they didn't fit. I told them they didn't fit and was told to wear them anyway and they would adjust them according to the sores that were made in my mouth. Not going to happen!! Still wearing the temp.
They lost my first bite plate and it had to be redone. They told me this on the day of extraction after I had sat there for over 3 hours. I had to reschedule the extractions.
On another occasion they had me sitting in the waiting room all afternoon only to have to reschedule.
I am still paying off my loan for teeth I don't wear cause they don't fit right

The best dental experience I have ever had! everyone was so knowledgeable and patient. The staff talk me through every step of my consultation it was such a pleasant visit. For once I actually cant wait for my next dentist appointment.

This place just gets better everytime I go in. Had all of my teeth pulled and got my dentures. They gave me dentures same day and have done any adjustments or changes I needed at no extra charge. And when I went back for my bottom teeth Dr J numbed me with practically no pain and finished the whole set of teeth so fast and well I have had hardly any pain! I would definitely reccomend these guys to everyone I know. They have made this process quick, easy, and actually enjoyable.

I wanted to share my experience with Aspen Dental in Longview. This is the email that I sent to the office manager because I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone after they opened. I also took the time to tell them why I was cancelling.

"Hello,

I was scheduled for an appointment today at 9am. I have been trying to call since 7:30 and keep getting the after hours message. However, I’m going to cancel this appointment and won’t need to be rescheduled. I do not feel that your dentistry is taking my needs into consideration and you are also charging for unnecessary work. I do not feel that your staff was honest in the assessment of work needing to be done. I also noticed a lot of thing that were not disclosed in my treatment plan and costs. I came to you all with a chief complaint of a filling that had fallen out and had a little pain. Your doctors suggested a root canal, then I was told I had to have a cleaning first. That does not make sense and is borderline, if not insurance fraud. I will be looking into that further considering I have met a couple people the past few days who have similar stories. You also told me that with insurance my cleaning would be $250, however my policy states that I am entitled to 2 cleanings a year with no out of pocket. I have not been told what will cost extra at any point. The lady on the phone just said “it’s going to be $250, ok?” I was also pressured by 3 different people to buy Invisalign. Even after I said no directly to the doctor, he proceeded to still try to sell them to me by telling me they are on sale for $2999. This is not taking care of patients needs, this has been treated as a sales gig."

Aspen Dental is a corporate dentistry, and they have a goal like all businesses to make money. There is nothing wrong with that. However, when you treat your patients like walking money bags, and are dishonest with them about treatment plans and costs, that goes beyond ethical business standards. Please support other local and private dentists in our small town, that have ownership groups that can relate to our East Texas values. I wish I had taken my advice from the start. I can promise that any other local and private dentist will not have this corporate sales mindset that puts your health behind making as much money as possible.
