My husband needed urgent dental care and Aspen Dental went above and beyond. The office staff was very sweet and helpful and Dr. Elrod went out of his way to take care of him. We will be back for dental care in the future.

I called for appointments for myself and my kids. They wanted to know our insurance information. I told them I had BCBS dental, and the kids had Wellcare. We get there on appointment day. I hand the receptionist the Wellcare card for one of the kids. The receptionist shakes her head "no," and waves my hand away, with no explanation. I took that to mean Wellcare wouldn't cover it, then, 100's of dollars later, I find out Wellcare would have covered both kids. They just never told me they weren't providers. Had they told me that, I would have taken the children elsewhere. Now, after they said I had paid everything in full, they keep billing me for 100's of dollars more. I'm sooooo done with them!! They weren't honest from the start!! I do not recommend them to anyone!!!

Very professional and nice staff. Got me in, let me know what I needed and helped me with a payment plan. First time I’ve been to a dentist and they actually showed me they cared about my health and not just my money!!

WORST ALL-AROUND DENTIST OFFICE I've EVER visited - in any of the 4 stated I've resided. I wish I could rate them zero stars. "Dr." Elrod's condescending chair-side manner, inept dentistry skills, coupled with a rude office manager, shady billing/account practices create a most DEPLORABLE office. It was my great misfortune of having Aspen Dental as the ONLY dentist within our insurance's network within a 150 mi. radius, at the time. Initially, it seemed okay...the office appeared to be clean, staff was friendly enough (more on that later) & we were typically seen by his hygienist or his female associate dentist (who's long gone now). Once Elrod started seeing us we each rec'd costly, ever-changing 'treatment plans'. His office staff would be replaced with completely new staff from visit to visit-some friendly, others NOT AT ALL. My heart went out to those w/fixed incomes or lacking insurance when staff would blurt out how much they owed or needed to pay to be seen, right out in the reception area without discretion. No need for that embarrassment. Treatment by Elrod was the WORST part!! During my 19 yr old's teeth cleaning he claimed she had microscopic cavities between her teeth, where braces had been. He proceeded to fill each of them. It was later discovered he used the wrong shade/color of filling and her once beautiful teeth looked horrendous. Hundreds of dollars later and hundreds more to another dentist it has since been corrected. His treatment plan didn't sync with the actual treatment rec'd. He prefers to pull teeth versus save them; his staff hipped me to this, saying "he LOVES pulling teeth - it's his favorite thing to do". He pulled 2 of my wisdom teeth AND a surprise extra tooth beside it, HE thought looked "problematic". I was his last appt before he left for a 2 week vacation to Haiti with his dental assistant. In his haste to depart he didn't stitch it, just left a gaping hole where 2 teeth side by side had been, that resulted in a double dry-socket. AGONY - that had to remain untreated because he was on vacation. $$$$ partial plate that I was forced to buy was NOT MY selection and was such poor quality that it never fit properly. (It was later deemed "junk quality" by another reputable dentist. Elrod cracked a healthy tooth while placing a crown on another and said, "it'll be fine"; which later became a surprise dental/sinus abscess - MORE agony! He dropped the numbing syringe IN my mouth. YES you read that correctly. Forget your x-rays - they will never be sent or forwarded to your new dentist. And finally the business staff...the continual "employee house-cleaning" must be a shoddy business tactic, because from staff to staff they could NEVER get my insurance billed correctly; despite new insurance cards presented, a letter and phone call from our new provider (Anthem) and repeated attempts to rectify it with their corporate...all to no avail. Collectively our family paid Aspen Dental thousands of dollars during our 2 years as unfortunate patients. I wouldn't recommend even my worst enemy to EVER visit this office.

Price gouging. Presenting the highest price and adding charges for items within services already listed in the quote then making the customer negotiate to get a fair price for the service. Charging for things that are already part of a service that they've already charged with in their estimate of cost. Example: Car wash- $20 + $15 soap used + $15 water used + $10 wash cloth used = $60 total charge. Charge for the same service anywhere else is only $20. The staff was very pleasant.

I came to you for veterans service day, I am hesitant about dentist and needles, I know I needed teeth pulled and was optimistic about seeing the dentist, however I had 2 teeth pulled with minimal pain and I couldn’t be more than happy. I will be returning for continued work and I know that I will be in good hands. Thank you Aspen Dental for your great service!

Everything was explained thoroughly and to my liking. The doctor kept checking for assurances that I understood the process and what all would be part of my procedures. I left feeling confident that they would take care of me.
