If I could give 0 stars I would!!! I would never recommend Aspen dental to anyone!!! They did my oral exam & x-rays yesterday & the cost of 2 extractions were very expensive! The office manager tells me she's gonna call me today to give me a quote after applying my discount plan (which I never received a phone call) so when I call them to see what is going on, the girl at the front desk keeps telling me the office manager is busy doing another consult & will call me back, an hour goes by & I still do not receive a call back so when I call back the office manager finally gets on the phone saying they are refusing me services & will send a referral somewhere else so after all the X-rays & exams now I just gotta get it done all over again . Smh I never even disrespected anyone, never cussed anyone out or anything!! I've never experienced anything like this before & Aspen dental by Killeen mall is a complete joke!!!!

Ive found my new dentist! I love them. Everyone there was super friendly, and so helpful. I especially love the assistant (i think thsts what she is) who was extremely comforting (i dont know her name, older lady around my age i think, short dark hair, with a gorgeous accent). She was just absolutely wonderful to me. And I think my dentist’s name was Bernard? He is amazing!!! I love Aspen Dental and will only be going there from now on!

Unfortunately they are out of network. Otherwise I would switch my dentist. But I went in for tooth pain when my normal dentist was closed. I was in and out with a prescription. And they even gave me a free numbing shot because I am out of network. I bet it’s normally pretty expensive. So I really appreciated that too.

When I had my initial visit, and established my treatment plan, I questioned whether I needed to wait until the new year before having a much-needed periodontic cleaning (SRP). I asked two of the employees about this and was told there shouldn't be an issue as they had checked with my insurance company. When I arrived at my appointment today to have a temporary crown replaced with the permanent, I was told that my insurance had not covered my recent periodontal cleaning (SRP) and I now owe $1400. My first thought was that my previous dentist (a different dental facility) had filed a claim on a past appointment that I cancelled. I asked if the $1400 could be charged to my CareCredit account until I got things straightened out. I didn't have the card with me but did use it to pay on a previous visit. Office staff wasn't able to look up the card number and couldn't find any record of the card number in my records. I then offered to call them with the card number when I got home after my appointment and was told that I would have to reschedule the appointment after payment. Please note that I the only bill I had received from Aspen dental to date was for $27.00. I came to this appointment with NO idea that I owned $1400. No one had called to tell me about this amount, nor had I received anything in the mail. I was COMPLETELY BLINDSIDED by the news in front of a lobby filled with people. I left the office without my permanent crown and a temporary crown that has been raking against my inner cheek for quite some time (yes that hurts). I stopped by my previous dentist's office on the way home. They HAD NOT filed a claim on the cancelled visit. I made it home and called my insurance company. They informed me that Aspen dental staff was fully informed that they (my insurance company) would not cover my periodontal cleaning (SRP) until March 2023. I then called Aspen dental to ask why I had not been informed of what my insurance company had told Aspen dental staff. It was a tense conversation, so I'll spare all of you the details. I was polite and so was the Aspen dental employee, but I definitely wasn't willing to accept the excuses I was hearing. In the end, the person that answered the phone verified that Aspen dental did in fact know that my insurance company wouldn't pay for another periodontal cleaning (SRP) until March 2023 when they told me there would be no issue. Had Aspen dental staff been honest with me, I would have waited until March for that part of my treatment.
1. Why wasn't the staff honest with me?
2. Had I been notified of this bill prior to my appointment. This would have given me time to work the issue and to ensure the bill was paid prior to my appointment, thus allowing me to get my permanent crown. I should never have been blindsided by the news as I tried to check in for my appointment.
3. Why was I not allowed to call the office with my credit card information after the appointment? Please don't treat me like a dishonest person when I'm actually offering to pay for a service that never should have happened.
4. Why was I not allowed to move forward with my appointment and get my permanent crown in place? Again, please don't treat me like a dishonest person when I'm actually offering to pay.
5. I am well aware that any initial treatment plan provided by a dental facility is an estimate; however, I fully expect the dental facility staff to be honest about what the insurance covers and what they don't.
I am both angry and disappointed. My initial visit and the services were great. It's unfortunate that I wasn't informed of the bill and that the staff wasn't honest about the insurance coverage in the first place. I've been to many dental offices in my lifetime. I have never been treated in this manner.
My advice to others: Verify your insurance coverage yourself.

They canceled my appointment because they couldn't get ahold of me. I called back twice. The first time no answer. The second time I left a message stating I was confirming my appointment. Do not try and call this place or make an appointment online. If you are going to use this place come in and make an appointment.

Seems like a good dental office, staff is good, environment is good, but bill is very poor...was supposed to have over $12000 of dental work over about 6 visits, after first visit they gave me a price quite over $12000.00, and only around $350 after insurance for out of pocket/copay cost...next visit I find out they charged me $3000.00 already and I still need to pay another $350+...for only 1 exam and a partial cleaning!?!
