This dental office could care less if a patient needs help. On the first visit you will be lulled into a false sense of caring from all the staff. A treatment plan will be presented to you by the office manager. If you can't afford the entire amount that day, her demeanor changes and begins to treat you like a leprous pauper.
Make sure that you don't have a dental emergency while you have a treatment plan in place. If you do have an emergency they will schedule an appointment for you but refuse to help you once you get there because the appointment was only for an evaluation.
Do not question their practices of evaluating your emergency and sending you home with no treatment. The office manager takes it personal (who has never had anyone talk to her when they are in pain and frustrated) and complains to the dentist who then informs all the staff that you're the lowest priority and can wait.
Once you finally get seen for your emergency you are told to setup another appointment for treatment but not before you are informed that you need your Primary Care Physician to authorize you having treatment. Don't question that practice either because the dental hygienist will forge your original paperwork to make you comply.

I read the reviews on Aspen Dental Crestview location and felt like I'd feel more comfortable taking myself and my son to that location then the other dental practices that my insurance would take in Pensacola. My gut feeling was correct! I was made to feel comfortable my first time walking in. The dental assistant who checked my teeth was extremely friendly (wish I knew her name). And then Dr.Durtschi came into the room and was awesome! He was so real with me, and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. He answered all of my questions regarding my future treatment options, and I ended up feeling completely reassured and happy with my choice. I'm looking forward to going back, which is just crazy for me to say. Thank you Aspen Dental for a great experience! Will be seeing y'all soon!

A special shout out to Ms Jasmine... thank you for personally escorting me to the STAFF restroom!... overall, everyone that we came in contact with at the Crestview office truly made our family feel welcome and genuinely cared for.

Sincerely,

Dr. T was funny but they could not get the appointment right i went in for a cleaning but got something totally different. I am no longer a patient as no one new what was supposed to happen its a good thing I wasn't supposed to get a limb removed it would have probably been the wrong one removed.

We had a scheduled appointment with Aspen dental but they had to reschedule because their dentist was not there. Then we had to reschedule again because they were unable to work that day apparently. Then today, after we had already arrived at the office since our appointment was at 7 a.m. they call our house phone telling my mom that they have to reschedule AGAIN claiming that they had a medical emergency. Currently we are talking to someone that is inside the office and they are just acting as if it isnt a big deal. As if it's our fault that they cant see us even though they had a doctor inside. Update: So after they just confirmed my appointment for Monday on the weekend, I show up and they now claim they dont accept my insurance because the new doctor doesn't want to.

The reviewer who said this "dentist office" is more like a car dealership is right.
When I made an appointment for the initial consultation, I was told that the initial consultation would be free. She explained that the consultation was to work out a dental plan with the dentist and get x-rays. My previous dentists (one which I used all throughout childhood, and one which I used for the previous four years) did this as well as the initial cleaning in one appointment, so I was a little confused as to why I needed a special appointment for this. I specifically asked if I would be able to receive a basic cleaning if that was all that I wanted, and was told that I would.
At the consultation, they said it would be $40, which isn't what I was told when I made the appointment... I informed them of what I was told over the phone, and they did give me the intitial visit for free, but I'm confused as to why they tried to make me pay something after they told me it would be free?
While getting my x-rays, the technician talked to me about the process at Aspen Dental, how the doctors would look at x-rays, and we could discuss my treatment plan. I was a little wary of this talk of a "treatment plan" because I've never ran into this at any other dentist. especially when I have been clear that I only want a regular cleaning. At this point, -again- I specifically asked about getting a regular cleaning, and I specifically asked the technician if I would be able to decline extra services and get a regular teeth cleaning. She said I would still be able to get a regular cleaning.
The rest of the visit is nice and normal. The hygienist and dentist were both pleasant.
At the end, I sat down with someone else to make my appointment and discuss pricing. This is where I ran into the issue. I basically received a classic sales pitch, "Here is a description of the product, -so how would you like to pay for this today-, here is a description of our payment options." I explained I wasn't interested in the product they were trying to sell me, that I already knew what product I was interested in. I was told that no matter what, I couldn't get a regular cleaning and that I had to follow their recommended plan.
Well, this is 100% different than what I was told up to this point. I was told several times, by several people, that I could decline the recommended services and still receive a regular cleaning. I made an appointment with this dentist office, that is an hour away, based on this knowledge alone and because they accept my insurance. So come to find out, I wasted four hours of my day (two hours driving and two hours sitting in an office) for no reason.
If I had known this, I could have saved my time, as well as theirs, and went to a dentist that was closer and just paid out of pocket for a basic cleaning.
This is ridiculous, and it is clear based on my interaction with multiple people that Aspen Dental does not have clear or standard policies.
Also, what kind of health provider refuses to care for patients simply because they do not want a more expensive procedure? Dentists recommend that everyone get their teeth cleaned every six month, so what kind of dentist refuses to clean a patient's teeth? That is absurd.

Very pleasant experience! First time going here and found everyone to be kind and very customer friendly. They were prompt with my scheduled appointment and they all worked together like a well oiled machine. I will deffinately recommend to friends and family.

Dr. Holden made the dental visit very pleasant for my teenage granddaughter who had only been to dentist one other time. He was gentle and explained things to her.

Your staff is awesome very compassionate understanding never been to a better dentist. I have total relief from a one-time visit. Thanks to all who cared for me..
An additional thanks for making it affordable to keep my mouth healthy and bring back my smile.

Overall, I was satisfied with my new patient appt at Aspen Dental. However, I feel that there seems to be an air of "payments." Paying in advance of treatment, which I did yesterday, is unsettling and I think it's the reason I left Aspen 4 years ago.
